Jean-Pierre Kingsley
Jean-Pierre Kingsley (born July 12, 1943) is a Canadian civil servant and businessman who served as the president and CEO of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES). He was the chief electoral officer of Elections Canada before he stepped down in December 2006. On April 28, 2009, he announced his resignation as president of IFES. He was succeeded by Bill Sweeney. Early life and career He was born in Ottawa in 1943. He was educated at the Académie De La Salle and went on to earn a BCom and a master's degree in Hospital Administration from the University of Ottawa. Kingsley was named chief electoral officer in February 1990 by Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. Chief Electoral Officer (Canada)
The Chief Electoral Officer of Canada (french: Directeur général des élections du Canada) is the person responsible for the administration of elections, referendums and other aspects of the electoral system in Canada. The position was established in 1920 under the Dominion Elections Act to be the chief executive of the independent agency now known as Elections Canada. The chief electoral officer is assisted in carrying out their mandate by the assistant chief electoral officer and the broadcasting arbitrator who ensures that the provisions of the Canada Elections Act and the Canada Referendum Act are carried out, and the Commissioner of Canada Elections who enforces the act. Stéphane Perrault was appointed chief electoral officer for Elections Canada on June 8, 2018, after having served as acting chief electoral officer from December 2016 to June 2018. January 2005 Iraqi Legislative Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Iraq on 30 January 2005 to elect the new National Assembly, alongside governorate elections and a parliamentary election in Kurdistan Region. The 275-member legislature had been created under the Transitional Law during the international occupation. The newly elected body was given a mandate to write a new constitution and exercise legislative functions until the new constitution came into effect. The elections also led to the formation of the Iraqi Transitional Government. Montfort Hospital (french: Hôpital Montfort), commonly shortened to Montfort in both languages, is a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Ottawa.
