Jean-Michel Roddaz (29 February 1948, ChambéryAfter ) is a French academic and historian, a specialist of ancient Rome, particularly of the Republican and Augustan periods. Biography Roddaz became an agrégé d'histoire in 1972 then a doctor (''Essai sur les sources du Principat augustéen'' under the direction of Robert Etienne, 1976). He was assistant of ancient history at the University of Pau between 1974 and 1979. He has an habilitation to direct research (''Marcus Agrippa'', 1984) after he was a residing member of the École française de Rome between 1979 and 1981. He was a lecturer and professor at the University of Pau from 1982 to 1988 and then became Professor of Ancient History at the Bordeaux Montaigne University in 1988. Chambéry
Chambéry (, , ; Arpitan: ''Chambèri'') is the prefecture of the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France. The population of the commune of Chambéry was 58,917 as of 2019, while the population of the Chambéry metropolitan area was 253,430. It has been the historical capital of the Savoy region since the 13th century, when Amadeus V, Count of Savoy, made the city his seat of power. Marcus Antonius (14 January 1 August 30 BC), commonly known in English as Mark Antony, was a Roman politician and general who played a critical role in the transformation of the Roman Republic from a constitutional republic into the autocratic Roman Empire. Antony was a relative and supporter of Julius Caesar, and served as one of his generals during the conquest of Gaul and the Civil War. Antony was appointed administrator of Italy while Caesar eliminated political opponents in Greece, North Africa, and Spain.
