Jean-Lesage
Jean-Lesage is a provincial electoral district in the Capitale-Nationale region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It consists of parts of the Beauport and La Cité-Limoilou boroughs of Quebec City. It was created for the 2003 election from most of the former Limoilou and part of Montmorency electoral districts. Even earlier, before Limoilou, the electoral district of Québec-Est existed in the same general area. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it lost some territory to Montmorency but gained some territory from Taschereau; it also gained a tiny amount of territory from Charlesbourg. Jean Lesage
Jean Lesage (; 10 June 1912 – 12 December 1980) was a Canadian lawyer and politician from Quebec. He served as the 19th premier of Quebec from 22 June 1960 to 16 June 1966. Alongside Georges-Émile Lapalme, René Lévesque and others, he is often viewed as the father of the Quiet Revolution. Quebec City International Airport was officially named in his honour on 31 March 1994, and a provincial electoral district, Jean-Lesage, was named for him, as well. Early years Lesage was born on June 10, 1912, in Montreal, Quebec, one of six children of Xavéri Lesage, a district manager of the insurance company ''Les Prévoyants du Canada'', and Cécile Côté. André Drolet (born 1 June 1954) is a Canadian politician. Drolet was elected to represent the riding of Jean-Lesage in the National Assembly of Quebec in the 2008 provincial election. Limoilou was a former provincial electoral district in Quebec, Canada. It was located in the general area of the city of Limoilou (today part of the La Cité-Limoilou borough of Quebec City). It was created for the 1966 election from part of the Québec-Est electoral district. Its final election was in 1998. 2003 Quebec General Election
The 2003 Quebec general election was held on April 14, 2003, to elect members of the National Assembly of Quebec (Canada). The Parti libéral du Québec (PLQ), led by Jean Charest, defeated the incumbent Parti Québécois, led by Premier Bernard Landry. In Champlain there was a tie between PQ candidate Noëlla Champagne and Liberal candidate Pierre-A. It comprises part of the Beauport borough of Quebec City and the municipality of Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval. 2008 Quebec General Election
The 2008 Quebec general election was held in the Canada, Canadian Provinces and territories of Canada, province of Quebec on December 8, 2008. The Quebec Liberal Party, under incumbent Premier Jean Charest, was re-elected with a majority government, marking the first time since the 1950s (when the Union Nationale (Quebec), Union Nationale of Maurice Duplessis won four consecutive elections) that a party or leader was elected to a third consecutive mandate, and the first time for the Liberals since the 1930s, when Louis-Alexandre Taschereau was Premier. The 2007 Quebec general election was held in the Canadian province of Quebec on March 26, 2007 to elect members of the 38th National Assembly of Quebec. The Quebec Liberal Party led by Premier Jean Charest managed to win a plurality of seats, but were reduced to a minority government, Quebec's first in 129 years, since the 1878 general election.
