Jayson Vemoa
Jayson Vemoa is the President of the Japan Niue Friendship Association based in Tokyo and has served as an Honorary Consul and Special Envoy to Niue in Japan. He is a former two time Muay Thai World Champion kickboxer from New Zealand of Niue and Cook Islands descent. He led a successful professional martial arts coaching career during the K-1 World Grand Prix and Pride Fighting Championships era in Japan. Hidetoshi Nakata
is a Japanese former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest Asian players of all time. Nakata began his professional career in 1995 and won the Asian Football Confederation Player of the Year award in 1997 and 1998, the Scudetto with Roma in 2001, played for Japan in three World Cup tournaments (1998, 2002 and 2006) and competed in the Olympics twice ( 1996 and 2000). In 2005, he was made the Knight of the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity, one of Italy's highest honors, for improving the country's image overseas. Robert George Wigmore (8 September 1949 – 13 April 2012) was leader of the Cook Islands Democratic Party from 2010 - 2012, and Deputy Prime Minister of the Cook Islands from 2009 - 2010. He served as a Minister in the Cabinets of Robert Woonton and Jim Marurai. Early life Wigmore was born on Rarotonga. Duken Tutakitoa-Williams
Duken Holo Tutakitoa-Williams (born 17 August 1998) is a Niuean boxer and the first Niue athlete competing in the Commonwealth Games history to win Niue Island's first ever medal. Williams is from the village of Liku, Niue. In April 2022, he won the New Zealand national cruiserweight title. In June 2022, he was selected for Niue's team for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. At the games he defeated the Cook Islands' Michael Schuster to secure a place in the heavyweight semi-final. Jan Soukup (born September 17, 1979) is a Czech karateka, the branch chief for International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan in Czech Republic, the president of the Czech Kyokushin Karate Association and the vice president of the Czech Fullcontact Karate Organization, and also a retired kickboxer who competed in the heavyweight division. Soukup's first noteworthy accomplishment was a third-place finish at the European Kyokushin Championships in 2003 and he followed this by winning the All-Japan Kyokushin Championships the next year. Mark Richard Hunt (born 23 March 1974) is a New Zealand former mixed martial artist and kickboxer of Samoan descent, currently living in Sydney, Australia. Hunt competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) until 2018 and was the winner of the 2001 K-1 World Grand Prix. Douglas Ma'afu Hawke, better known as Doug "Vicious" Viney (born 20 November 1976) is a Tongan-New Zealander heavyweight boxer and kickboxer. He is the K-1 World GP 2007 in Las Vegas champion, who also represented Tonga as a super heavyweight boxer under the name of Ma'afu Hawke at 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Aleksandr N. Pitchkounov (russian: Александр Николаевич Пичкунов; born May 6, 1979) is a former Russian heavyweight kickboxer and kyokushin karateka competing in K-1. He was the runner up at the K-1 World GP 2007 in Hawaii and K-1 World GP 2008 in Taipei tournament. Background Pitchkounov began training in Kyokushin kaikan at age of 13 in 1993. Ewerton Teixeira
Ewerton Teixeira (born February 13, 1982) is a Brazilian professional kickboxer, mixed martial artist, and Kyokushin Kaikan karateka. Teixeira obtained his first K-1 title in 2008 at K-1 World Grand Prix 2008 in Fukuoka by beating Keijiro Maeda in the final. He is training K-1 at the Ichigeki Academy Kyokushin Kaikan in Tokyo, Japan. Despite the short career for a kickboxer, Teixeira has notable wins against K-1 legends: Jerome Le Banner, Errol Zimmerman and Musashi.
