Jayapura Regency
Jayapura Regency is one of the regencies (''kabupaten'') in Papua Province of Indonesia. It is situated to the west of but does not include the city of Jayapura. Previously covering most of the north-east portion of Papua province, it was reduced substantially in extent from 12 November 2002, when the eastern districts were split off to form a new Keerom Regency and the western districts were split off to form a new Sarmi Regency. It now covers an area of 17,516.6 km2, and had a population of 111,943 at the 2010 Census and 166,171 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 168,476. The administrative centre is the district of Sentani, with 72,443 inhabitants in mid 2021. 2021 Pekan Olahraga Nasional
The XX National Sports Week ( id, Pekan Olahraga Nasional XX, abbreviated as PON XX), also called PON XX Papua or PON Papua 2021, was the twentieth edition of the Indonesian National Sports Week, hosted by Papua. The event took place from 2 October to 15 October 2021. Lukas Enembe Stadium was the main venue for this edition, both the opening and closing ceremonies. This event was originally going to be held in 2020, but was postponed to 2021 due to Covid-19 pandemic. This edition was the first PON held in the province, as well as in the Western New Guinea region and Eastern Indonesian Time areas. Sarmi Regency
Sarmi Regency is one of the regencies (''kabupaten'') in Papua Province of Indonesia. It was formed from the western districts then within Jayapura Regency with effect from 12 November 2002. It covers an area of 18,034.0 km2, and had a population of 32,971 at the 2010 Census and 41,515 at the 2020 Census; the official estimate as at mid 2021 was 41,849. The regency's administrative centre is at the town of Sarmi. Sarmi is named from an acronym of the five main tribes, which are Sobey, Armati, Rumbuai, Manirem, and Isirawa. Keerom Regency is one of the regencies (''kabupaten'') in the Papua Province of Indonesia. It was formed from the eastern districts then within Jayapura Regency with effect from 12 November 2002.
