Jay Williams (musician)
Jay Williams (born September 1973, in London) is a British songwriter and performer. He is most recognised for his work on the Eurovision song " Love City Groove". Jay signed to his first label Warner Music at the age of sixteen and was responsible for various one-hit wonders with a variety of bands/artists as diverse as RPM and The Runaways on Mo Wax, DarkMan, Ant and Dec and the "Mr Blobby" charity single, as well as serial hitmakers All Saints. Jay retired from music in 1997. Mo Wax
Mo' Wax was a British record label founded by James Lavelle in 1992. The label was not co-founded by Tim Goldsworthy, as is often reported. Steve Finan became co-owner shortly after. Mo' Wax came to recognition for being at the forefront of trip hop, turntablism and alternative hip hop during the mid-1990s. The label is also responsible for bringing attention to the graffiti artist Futura 2000 by using his artwork on many of its releases in the early to mid-1990s. Lavelle signed partial ownership of Mo' Wax over to A&M Records (now part of the Universal Music Group) in 1996. When their deal expired he signed with Beggars Group, who still own some of the catalogue. The name derives from "Mo' Wax Please", the title of a column James Lavelle wrote in the magazine '' Straight No Chaser'' and the Oxford club night he ran. All Saints (group)
All Saints are an English girl group formed in London in 1993. They were founded as All Saints 1.9.7.5 by music manager Ron Tom, who later also founded Sugababes, with members Melanie Blatt, Shaznay Lewis, and Simone Rainford. The group struggled to find commercial success upon being signed to ZTT Records and were dropped by the label shortly after Rainford left the group. In 1996, the group were joined by Canadian-born sisters Nicole Appleton, Nicole and Natalie Appleton and signed to London Records under their shortened name. Mr Blobby is a British fictional character, created by British comedy writer Charlie Adams. His design involves mostly a costume of a bulbous pink figure with yellow spots, a permanent toothy grin, and green jiggly eyes, with performers often using tone of voice and repetition to express moods and an Voice changer, electronically altered voice to speak the word "blobby" when the character talks; although they are also capable of other words when required. In most cases, the character was portrayed by Barry Killerby between 1992 and 2015 and by Paul Denson from 2015 onwards. The Runaways
The Runaways were an all-female American rock band who recorded and performed from 1975 to 1979. The band released four studio albums and one live album during its run. "Love City Groove" is a song by British rap group Love City Groove that represented the at the Eurovision Song Contest 1995.
