Javier Fortuna
Javier Fortuna Francisco (born July 15, 1989) is a Dominican professional boxer. He held the WBA interim featherweight title from 2012 to 2013, the WBA (Regular) super featherweight title from 2015 to 2016, and challenged for the IBF lightweight title in 2018. Early life Fortuna was raised in La Romana, Dominican Republic, where he trained in boxing with his older brother, Jonathon Alexander Fortuna. Amateur career Fortuna was a member of the Dominican National Team, and during his amateur career he won a Pan American silver medal and a gold medal at the Dominican National Championships. Professional career Fortuna is promoted by Lou DiBella's company, DiBella Entertainment. The International Boxing Organization (IBO) is a US based corporation that sanctions professional boxing matches and awards world and regional championships. It is an independent and well-known organization not recognized by the "big four" governing bodies ( WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO), who only recognize each other in their rankings and title unification rules. Bryan Vázquez (born August 26, 1987) is a Costa Rican professional boxer. Professional career On November 3, 2011, Vázquez defeated Santos Benavides by twelfth round unanimous decision for the interim WBA Super featherweight title. On July 21, 2012 Vázquez defeated Jorge Lacierva to earn a match against WBA World super featherweight champion, Takashi Uchiyama. This was also a match up between two boxers in The Ring Magazine's top ten Junior Lightweights, with Vázquez having recently moved into the tenth spot and Uchiyama residing in the number one spot.
