Javan () was the fourth son of Noah's son Japheth according to the "Generations of Noah" (Book of Genesis, chapter 10) in the Hebrew Bible. Josephus states the traditional belief that this individual was the ancestor of the Greeks. Also serving as the Hebrew name for Greece or Greeks in general, יָוָן ''Yavan'' or ''Yāwān'' has long been considered cognate with the name of the eastern Greeks, the Ionians (Greek Ἴωνες ''Iōnes'', Homeric Greek Ἰάονες ''Iáones''; Mycenaean Greek *Ιαϝονες ''Iawones''). Javan Sebastian (born 27 September 1994) is a Scotland international rugby union player. He plays as a tighthead prop for the Scarlets. Club career Sebastian has played for Carmarthen Athletic, Llanelli RFC and Carmarthen Quins. Sebastian has represented Wales at under-16 and under-18 level. He was then signed as part of the Scarlets academy programme and made one competitive appearance for the Scarlets against Sale in the LV Cup. Ali Javan
Ali Javan ( fa, علی جوان, Ali Javān; December 26, 1926 – September 12, 2016) was an Iranian-American physicist and inventor. He was the first to propose the concept of the gas laser in 1959 at the Bell Telephone Laboratories. A successful prototype, constructed by him in collaboration with W. R. Bennett, Jr., and D. R. Herriott was demonstrated in 1960. His other contributions to science have been in the fields of quantum physics and spectroscopy. Rambod Javan ( fa, رامبد جوان; born on 22 December 1971 in Tehran) is an Iranian actor, director, TV host and the author of many screenplays.
