Sam Vogel, also known by his stage name Jauz ( ), is an American DJ and electronic dance music producer based in San Francisco, United States. He founded his own record label, Bite This, in 2017. Early life Vogel grew up in Northern California. He began playing guitar and producing electronic music on his computer at the age of 15. He went to Icon Collective music production school. He previously went to a film school in Loyola Marymount University where he joined Kappa Sigma before deciding to pursue a musical career, prompting him to enroll in Icon Collective. He began releasing future house tracks before adopting the stage name Jauz. His career kickstarted when fellow musician Kennedy Jones had played one of his remixes. Moe Shalizi (born April 11, 1990) is an Afghan-American talent manager, record executive, and investor. He is best known as the manager of Marshmello. Shalizi is the CEO and Founder of The Shalizi Group and Pick Six Records, and co-owner of the marshmallow brand Stuffed Puffs. Early life and education Shalizi was born on April 11, 1990 in Palm Springs, California and raised in Irvine, California. He attended his freshman year at Northwood High School and then relocated to Corona, California where he graduated from Santiago High School. Shalizi earned his Bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of California Riverside (UCR). Mad Decent is an American record label founded by Diplo. The label has helped introduce Brazilian baile funk and Angolan kuduro to clubs around the world. Recently, it has popularized moombahton, a genre of electronic dance music created by DJ Dave Nada. The genre on the label was mostly popularized by Dillon Francis after collaborating with Diplo on Francis's 2012 track "Que Que". The label is also known for its series of concerts in major cities known as the Mad Decent Block Party. History Mad Decent was founded in 2006 by Diplo. Thomas Wesley Pentz (born November 10, 1978), known professionally as Diplo, is an American DJ and music producer. He is the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project Major Lazer, a member of the supergroup LSD with Sia and Labrinth, a member of electronic duo Jack Ü with producer and DJ Skrillex, and a member of Silk City with Mark Ronson. Monstercat (formerly known as Monstercat Media) is a Canadian independent electronic music record label based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Founded in 2011 by Mike Darlington and Ari Paunonen, the label released music on a tri-weekly basis until 2018, when this was changed to four releases a week. This would later be changed to six releases a week in 2021. Beginning with the release of its first compilation album, ''Monstercat 001 – Launch Week'', the label releases regular compilation albums featuring music from various artists.
