Jastrzębski Węgiel, is a professional men's volleyball club based in Jastrzębie-Zdrój in southern Poland, founded in 1961. They compete in the Polish PlusLiga. Two–time Polish Champion and one time Polish Cup winner. Since the beginning of its foundation, the club is closely linked to coal mining in the region. Jastrzębie-Zdrój
Jastrzębie-Zdrój (; german: Bad Königsdorff-Jastrzemb, originally ''Jastrzemb'', cs, Lázně Jestřebí, szl, Jastrzymbie-Zdrōj or ''Jastrzymbje-Zdrůj'') is a city in south Poland with 86,632 inhabitants (2021). Its name comes from the Polish words ''jastrząb'' ("hawk") and ''zdrój'' ("spa" or "spring"). From 1861 until the 20th century, it was a spa village situated in Upper Silesia. It was granted city rights in 1963. Jastrzębie-Zdrój is currently situated in the Silesian Voivodeship (since 1999), previously in Katowice Voivodeship (1975–1998). In the early 1980s, the city was one of main centers of workers' protests, which resulted in creation of Solidarity (see: Jastrzebie-Zdroj 1980 strikes). Table Tennis
Table tennis, also known as ping-pong and whiff-whaff, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball, also known as the ping-pong ball, back and forth across a table using small solid rackets. It takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Except for the initial serve, the rules are generally as follows: Players must allow a ball played toward them to bounce once on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opposite side. Michał Jarosław Kubiak (born 23 February 1988) is a Polish professional volleyball player. He was a member of the Poland national team from 2011 to 2021. A participant in the Olympic Games (London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020), two–time World Champion (2014, 2018), and the 2012 World League winner. Michał Eryk Łasko (born 11 March 1981) is an Italian former volleyball player of Polish descent, member of the Italy men's national volleyball team, bronze medallist at the Olympic Games (London 2012), 2005 European Champion, 2001 Italian Champion. Personal life Michał Łasko was born in Wrocław, Poland, but raised in Italy. His father, Lech Łasko, is a former Polish volleyball player - 1976 Olympic Champion. VfB Friedrichshafen Volleyball GmbH is a German professional men's volleyball club founded in 1969 and based in Friedrichshafen, southern Baden-Württemberg. Main stakeholder is VfB Friefdrichshafen e.V. The club plays in the German Bundesliga and the CEV Champions League. The team won the 2006–07 CEV Champions League title.
