Jasper Township is one of the ten townships of Fayette County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2020 census the population was 703. Geography Located in the western part of the county, it borders the following townships: * Jefferson Township - north * Union Township - east * Concord Township - southeast * Richland Township, Clinton County - south * Wilson Township, Clinton County - southwest * Jefferson Township, Greene County - west * Silvercreek Township, Greene County - northwest Two villages are located in Jasper Township: Milledgeville in the north, and part of Octa in the northwest. Octa is a village in Fayette County, Ohio, United States, along Rattlesnake Creek. The population was 58 at the 2020 census. History Octa was originally called Allentown, and under the latter name was laid out by Elijah Allen, and named for him. The present name honors a person named Octa Barnes.
