Jason Truby
Jason Truby (born June 1, 1973) is an American musician. He began his career in 1989 with Living Sacrifice as lead guitarist. He was also a member of P.O.D., but has also performed with Phil Keaggy, David Beegle, Ashley Cleveland and her husband Kenny Greenberg, and was a guest performer with Phil Keaggy's band Glass Harp (band), Glass Harp at the First Annual Denver Guitar Festival. History Living Sacrifice In 1989, Truby joined Living Sacrifice with the other members being Bruce Fitzhugh, DJ Johnson, and Lance Garvin. ''Nonexistent'' is the sophomore album of the extreme metal band Living Sacrifice. The album was released through R.E.X. Records in 1992. The album was recorded quickly after the debut self-titled album in Nashville, Tennessee and produced by Doug Mann. The album is a notable change for the band, as the debut focused more on a thrash metal sound, while the follow up has a heavy emphasis on death metal, drawing more from artists such as Gorguts or Obituary. History The album was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee a short time after the release of their self-titled debut album in 1991. The band began their recording with Doug Mann and engineer Martin Woodlee. The band originally hoped to have Scott Burns (Death, Sepultura, Cannibal Corpse) produce the album, with interest on both sides as the self-titled was on his top albums of 1991. "Sleeping Awake" (also known as "Sleeping Away") is the lead single by P.O.D. from '' The Matrix Reloaded: The Album''. The film soundtrack was released on May 6, 2003 by Warner Bros. Records/Maverick Records with the single itself available May 26. The US edition only includes the title track while the UK/Australia edition, released June 3, includes the video and two more songs. "Sleeping Awake" was later released as a bonus track on P.O.D.'s studio album, ''Payable on Death''. The song's video and lyrics are directly inspired by ''The Matrix Reloaded''. Marcos Curiel
Marcos Curiel (born September 9, 1974) is the lead guitarist of rock bands P.O.D., The Accident Experiment and Daylight Division. Curiel was born in San Diego, California, in 1974 and is of Mexican descent. He grew up in the neighboring city of Chula Vista, where he graduated from Bonita Vista High School in 1992. Curiel started P.O.D. that year, along with friend Noah "Wuv" Bernardo. The band started building a strong local fanbase, releasing several albums independently. In 1998, they were signed to a record deal (Atlantic Records) and released their hit albums ''The Fundamental Elements of Southtown'' (1999) and ''Satellite'' (2001) including hit singles, "Alive" and "Youth of the Nation". Arthur Green (musician)
Arthur Green is the fourth and current bassist for the extreme metal band, Living Sacrifice. He, along with brothers Cory Brandan Putman and Matthew Putman, founded the mathcore band Eso-Charis. History Arthur Green was born in the Philippines, with his father being an American citizen in the United States Military. Growing up in the U.S., Green would play bass in a few punk bands in the Arkansas area. After meeting Cory Brandan Putman and Matthew Putman, the three formed a band called Funnel. In 1995, Green formed Elliot, with Cory on vocals, Matt on drums, and Matt Depper on guitars. They recorded the EP ''The Plateau Green'' before Depper quit. Jayson Holmes took over guitars and the band changed their name to Eso-Charis. The band recorded ''Eso-Charis'', which was released through Seize the Day Records, founded by Bruce Fitzhugh. Rocky Gray
William Rocky Gray (born July 2, 1974) is a drummer and guitarist who has been part of the Arkansas metal scene since the early 1990s. He is best known as a former drummer of the rock band Evanescence from 2003-2007. He is the lead guitarist for Living Sacrifice and Solus Deus, and plays drums for Soul Embraced, Mourningside, Machina, and We Are the Fallen. Gray also released a solo album titled ''Accursed'' (2015). History In 1991, Gray joined the grindcore band Shredded Corpse with David S. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. Groove Metal
Groove metal is a subgenre of heavy metal music that began in the early 1990s. The genre achieved success in the 1990s and continued having success in the 2000s. Inspired by thrash metal and traditional heavy metal, groove metal features raspy singing and screaming, down-tuned guitars, heavy guitar riffs, and syncopated rhythms. ''Reborn'' is the fourth album by the Christian metal band Living Sacrifice. The album was released in 1997, and later re-released and remastered in 2004. In 2020, the band announce a vinyl re-release of ''Reborn'', which sold out quickly. Critical reception ''Reborn'' saw a drastic separation from their previous style, dropping most of the death metal sound of ''Nonexistent'' and ''Inhabit'', in favor of more of a metalcore and hardcore punk sound. The album was well-received by the metalcore and hardcore scene, whereas the death metal scene predominantly disregarded it. The album is widely considered as Living Sacrifice's biggest album.
