Jason O'Reilly
Jason O'Reilly (born 23 August 1976) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for the Belturbet club and was a member of the Cavan county team from 1996 to 2009. A prolific goalscorer, O'Reilly is perhaps best known for scoring the winning goal in the 1997 Ulster Senior Football Championship Final. Playing career Jason played with Belturbet from youth level. He scored two goals in the 1995 Junior final win over Knockbride. He also scored the decisive goal as Belturbet claimed their first Intermediate title against Denn in 1996. After being overlooked at minor level, O'Reilly first represented Cavan at under-21 level in 1996. Cavan claimed the Ulster title, and O'Reilly scored a goal in the All-Ireland semi-final win over Meath. On 8 September, Jason started the All-Ireland final against Kerry, scoring 1-1 as Kerry finished strong to win the title. Robert Emmet's Gaelic Athletic Club Slaughtneil ( ga, CLG Roibeard Éiméid Sleacht Néill) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based on the townland of Slaughtneil, near Maghera, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. The club is a member of Derry GAA and competes in Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. The club is named after Irish patriot and revolutionary Robert Emmet and the club plays its home games at Emmet Park. Castlerahan GAA
Castlerahan is a Gaelic football club from Ballyjamesduff, County Cavan, Ireland. They take their name from the Castlerahan barony in which Ballyjamesduff is located. History The club was founded in its current state in 1961, Ballyjamesduff and Castlerahan fielding separate teams prior to then. The club reached its first Senior Championship final in 1968, losing to Crosserlough. In 2011, the club reached its first senior final since 1968. They lost the final heavily to Cavan Gaels. 2017 Cavan Senior Football Championship
The 2017 Cavan Senior Football Championship is the 109th edition of Cavan GAA's premier gaelic football tournament for senior graded clubs in County Cavan, Ireland. The tournament consists of 14 teams, with the winner representing Cavan in the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a league stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. The draw for the group stages of the championship were made on 10 April 2017. Ramor United were the defending champions after they defeated neighbours Castlerahan in the previous years final, however Castlerahan exacted their revenge when dethroning them at the semi-final stage. Cavan Gaels regained their throne as Cavan kingpins, defeating Castlerahan by 0-13 to 0-8 in the final. This was their 14th win, and also their 10th in 20 years. Cootehill Celtic is a Gaelic games club from County Cavan in Ireland. It is affiliated to Cavan GAA. It fields teams at every age group in both Gaelic football and hurling and is the only dual club in county Cavan. The Club has recently registered with the LGFA and now has Girls from U-8 to U-14 teams. Lacken Celtic GFC
Lacken are a Gaelic football club from County Cavan in Ireland. They are affiliated to Cavan GAA. History Lacken Celtic GFC was formed in the 1890s by men who returned from working overseas in Scotland. The club got its name in honour of the Glasgow Celtic Soccer Club and the team wore the green and white jerseys synonymous with the Celtic club. At the time, the home pitch was known as "The Green" and was located on the banks of the River Erne (beside Scarvey Bridge, Corlismore). Tommy Carr (Gaelic Footballer)
Tommy Carr is an Irish strength and conditioning coach and former Gaelic footballer who played for the Dublin county team. He later became involved in coaching and media work. Playing career Carr received an All Star in 1991 in the same year that he won a National Football League medal with Dublin. He won his second league medal with Dublin in 1993. Managerial career Carr was the Dublin manager between 1997 and 2001, a period that proved an unsuccessful period for Dublin. During this era the current Dublin manager, Dessie Farrell, was the captain of the Dublin football team until Carr was replaced by Tommy Lyons.
