Václav Krška
Václav Krška (7 October 1900 – 17 November 1969) was a Czech film director, screenwriter and writer. Life Krška was born in Písek on 7 October 1900 as the only child. His father was a butcher and innkeeper, but died soon after his birth. His mother married a mill owner, so Krška grew up in a mill in Heřmaň. After his step-father and mother died, he was managing the mill until 1937. In his youth he founded an amateur theatre for which he wrote, acted and directed. He also wrote poems, short stories and novels. Krška made his first movie ''Fiery Summer'' in 1939, based on the novel he wrote. He was a homosexual, as were his frequent collaborators František Čáp and Eduard Cupák. During the Nazi occupation he was sentenced to 5 months in prison for homosexual relations. Jarmil Michael Burghauser (born Jarmil Michael Mokrý, 21 October 1921, Písek19 February 1997, Prague) was a Czech composer, conductor, and musicologist. After the short-lived Prague Spring, he incurred the disfavor of his country's Communist regime and had to adopt the pseudonym Michal Hájků in order to write a series of compositions in a style which evoked earlier periods of music, called ''Storia apocrifa della musica Boema''. Josef Illík
Josef Illík (10 September 1919 – 21 January 2006) was a Czech cinematographer and photographer. Life Josef Illík studied photography in high school. His teachers were Ladislav Sutnar, Jaromír Funke and Josef Ehm. After the World War II he was a successful photographer, but also started working at Barrandov Studios as an assistant cinematographer. From 1952 to 1957 he was a cinematographer for army documentaries in Czechoslovak Army Film. Since 1958 he worked on feature films as a cinematographer. He frequently worked with directors Karel Kachyňa, Václav Krška and Václav Vorlíček.
