Jarno Parikka
Jarno Parikka (born 21 July 1986) is a retired Finnish footballer who played as a striker. Parikka was known as a striker who possessed a good footballing brain for bringing his teammates in the game while having an undeniable eye for the goal. His preferred position in the pitch is playing with another striker and lying just behind him. He has been criticized for being somewhat lightweight for a striker. Biography Parikka was born and raised in Vantaa. He is a second generation footballer, as his father Jari also played for HJK Helsinki in the 1980s. He played also ice hockey for seven years before moving to HJK and choosing football. He has also played futsal. FC KooTeePee was a Finnish football club. History Originally FC KooTeePee was founded as a reserve team of Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat (founded 1927). In the year 2000, it became an independent club. At that time Kotkan Työväen Palloilijat was playing in Veikkausliiga, but was relegated to Ykkönen and finally went into bankruptcy. In the same season KooTeePee was promoted from Kolmonen to Kakkonen, and in two years it made its way to the highest level (coached first by Pasi Rautiainen and then Ismo Lius). In their last season of 2013, the team played in Ykkönen and was coached by Sami Ristilä. The league was originally supposed to have 14 teams, but AC Allianssi was refused a license, so the league was subsequently played with only 13 teams. Veikkausliiga (; sv, Tipsligan) is the premier division of Finnish football, the highest tier of the Finnish football league structure, comprising the top 12 clubs of the country. Its main sponsor is the Finnish national betting agency Veikkaus, hence the league's name. Veikkausliiga was founded in 1990; before that the top division was called ''Mestaruussarja'' (championship series) since 1930 which was an amateur or semi-professional league. Between 1908 and 1930 the championship was decided as a knock-out cup competition. ''Salatut elämät'' ("Secret Lives", literally "Concealed Lives") is a Finnish television soap opera that premiered on MTV3 on 25 January 1999. The series' storylines follow the daily lives of several families who live in the same apartment block in Helsinki. The series primarily centres on the residents of Pihlajakatu and its neighbouring areas. The UEFA European Under-21 Championship, the UEFA Under-21 Championship or simply the Euro Under-21, is a biennial football competition contested by the European men's under-21 national teams of the UEFA member associations. FC Lahti is a Finnish football club based in the city of Lahti. It currently plays in the Finnish Premier League (''Veikkausliiga'') after placing first in the Finnish First Division (''Ykkönen'') during season 2011. The homeground of FC Lahti is Lahden Stadion. FC Lahti is famous of being the local team of the most successful Finnish player, Jari Litmanen, who played for the club in two stints in 2004 and 2009–10. Jyrki Antero ("Jyrä") Heliskoski (September 28, 1945 – December 28, 2020) was a Finnish people, Finnish football (soccer), football coach (sport), coach. Heliskoski worked briefly as the head coach of the Finland national football team, Finland national team from July 2005 to January 2006. He then continued as an assistant coach under Roy Hodgson until November 2007.
