Japan National Wheelchair Rugby Team
The represents Japan in international wheelchair rugby. Japan is the third most successful team in the Asia-Oceania region, finishing outside the medal places only once in eight appearances at the IWRF Asia-Oceania Championship. Japan have won the tournament once, in 2015 and are also the 2014 Asian Para Games champions. They have reached four Wheelchair rugby at the Summer Paralympics, Summer Paralympics, with their best finish being 4th in the 2012 Summer Paralympics, 2012 Games in London. History The Japan Wheelchair Rugby Federation (formerly the Japan Quad Rugby Federation) was established in April 1997, in response to the introduction of wheelchair rugby at the Wheelchair rugby at the 1996 Summer Paralympics, 1996 Summer Paralympics in Atlanta.
