Janne Heikkinen (volleyball)
Janne Heikkinen (born 11 April 1976) is a Finnish former volleyball player, a member of Finnish national team in 1993–2009. Career Clubs He started his career in his home town Kajaani with his brother. When he was sixteen years old he moved to Tampere and started study in Varala sport high school. Heikkinen made his debut in Finland volleyball league year 1993. He was seventeen-year-old youth player. He won on his first season in Raision Loimu bronze medal of Finnish Championship. Same year he was in youth World Championships were Finland played history best result, 4. place. After season media chose him best newcomer player in the league. Heikkinen played in Raision Loimu seasons 1993–1998. In his last season he won Finland league champion. After many seasons in Finland volleyball league Heikkinen made professional contract with CV Las Palmas. He was 22 years old and won silver medal of Spanish Championship. PlusLiga
The PlusLiga is the highest level of men's volleyball in Poland, a professional league competition featuring volleyball clubs located in this country. It is overseen by Polska Liga Siatkówki SA (PLS SA). It is currently a 16 teams league from October to April/May. The regular season is followed by playoffs, with the winner earning the Polish Championship ( pl, Mistrzostwo Polski). It is one of the best volleyball leagues in Europe, being highly ranked in the international competitions. The CEV Champions League is the top official competition for men's volleyball clubs from the whole of Europe. The competition is organised every year by the European Volleyball Confederation. Formula (2018–19 to present) Qualification A total of 20 teams participate in the main competition, with 18 teams being allocated direct vacancies on the basis of ranking list for European Cup Competitions, and 2 teams from the qualification rounds. League round 20 teams take part in the League round where they are split in to 5 groups.
