Janika Kronberg
Janika Kronberg (born on 24 November 1963 in Võru) is an Estonian literary scientist and critic. Kronberg graduated from Võru Secondary School No. 1 in 1981 (now, the Võru Kreutzwald Gymnasium) and from the Faculty of Philology of Tartu State University in 1989, majoring in Estonian language and literature. From 1989 until 1996, he was the head of Karl Ristikivi Museum. He is the chairman of Karl Ristikivi Society. From 2005 until 2015, he was the head of Estonian Literary Museum. Since 2016 he is the chief editor of the magazine ''Looming''. Topics of research include Karl Ristikivi and his legacy; he has also done a lot of research related to Karl Ast, Friedebert Tuglas, Eduard Vilde, Henrik Visnapuu and Ivar Grünthal. Bernard Kangro
Bernard Kangro (18 September 1910 – 25 March 1994) was an Estonian writer and poet. Education Bernard Kangro was born the son of a farmer, Andres Kangro, and his wife, Minna. He grew up in rather humble circumstances. He attended primary school from 1919 to 1922 the primary school in Kiltre, then a school in Antsla (1922 to 1924) and finally from 1924 to 1929 the high school in Valga, Estonia, Valga. From 1929 to 1938 he studied Estonian language and literature at the University of Tartu. Career In 1935 Bernard Kangro made his debut with the collection of poems ''Sonetid''. Other volumes of poetry followed. From 1938 Kangro was a member of the artist group Arbujad (shamans), who strived towards a deeper emotional and spiritual experience of the language. Kangro worked as a journalist too, for the publication ''Eesti Sona'' in 1942 and ''Puhkus ja elurõõm'' in 1943. 1943/44 he worked at the Vanemuine theater in Tartu as a dramatist. Ivar Grünthal
Ivar Grünthal (8 April 1924 – 14 February 1996) was an Estonian writer. His parents were lawyers Vera Poska-Grünthal and Timotheus Grünthal. His grandfather was statesman Jaan Poska. From 1932 to 1941 he studied at Hugo Treffner Gymnasium in Tartu. In 1942 he started his schooling at University of Tartu (studying medicine), but in 1943 he was transferred to Helsinki University. In 1944 he joined the Finnish Infantry Regiment 200. After the war he lived in Sweden. He was the founder and chief editor (1957–1965) of the magazine ''Mana''. He was a member of Estonian Writers' Union Abroad, and Estonian PEN Club.
