Jani Haavisto
Jani Haavisto (born 11 May 1987) is a Finnish former professional darts player. Career Haavisto won two events on the Professional Darts Corporation's Scandinavian Tour in 2012, finishing second in the Order of Merit to qualify for the 2013 PDC World Darts Championship. He defeated compatriot Jarkko Komula in the preliminary round, before being beaten 1–3 in sets by Gary Anderson in the first round, receiving praise for his high-scoring. Haavisto entered Q School in an attempt to win a PDC Pro Tour Card to play the full circuit in 2013 and 2014, and secured it on the second day by beating Colin Fowler 6–4 in his final round match. He played in his first World Cup of Darts in February with Jarkko Komula and qualified from Group F courtesy of a 5–4 win over the USA and then shocked the Dutch pair of Raymond van Barneveld and Michael van Gerwen, both of whom had won major titles in 2012, with a 5–3 victory in the last 16. Per Laursen (born 16 April 1966) is a Danish professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and British Darts Organisation (BDO) tournaments. BDO career Laursen reached the final of the WDF World Cup in both single and pairs (with Brian Sorensen) in 2005 and won the Welsh Open earlier that year – performances which enabled him to qualify for the BDO World Darts Championship for the first time in 2006. On his television debut in the 2006 BDO World Darts Championship, he defeated number five seed Tony Eccles in the first round but lost to Shaun Greatbatch in round two. John Michael (darts Player)
John Michael (born Yannis Michail, 20 March 1974) is a Cypriot-born Greek darts player playing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Career PDC He joined the PDC in 2009, and began competing in PDC Europe events a year later. He qualified for the 2011 European Championship, therefore becoming the first Greek player to qualify for a major PDC tournament. He was beaten 3-6 by defending champion Phil Taylor in the first round, with Taylor averaging 107.83. BDO He joined the BDO in 2012. Michael has won numerous WDF-ranked darts tournaments, including the Cyprus Open (four times), the Greek Open (four times) and the Hellinikon Open (three times). He qualified for the 2015 PDC World Darts Championship while still playing in British Darts Organisation events. The 2015 William Hill World Darts Championship was the 22nd World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The event was held at the Alexandra Palace, London between 18 December 2014 and 4 January 2015. Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion, having won his first World Championship title in 2014, but he lost 6–3 to Gary Anderson in the semi-finals. Anderson won the title by beating 16-time World Champion Phil Taylor 7–6 in the final. The 2014 bwin World Cup of Darts was the fourth edition of the PDC World Cup of Darts which took place between 6–8 June 2014 at the Alsterdorfer Sporthalle in Hamburg, Germany. Dennis Lindskjold
Dennis Lindskjold (born 21 December 1977) is a Danish former professional darts player. Career Lindskjold has been picked 7 times for the Danish national team. In September 2012, he won a Scandinavian Pro Tour event in Denmark by defeating Niels Jorgen Hansen 6–3 in the final. A year later he beat Soren Hedegaard, Jarkko Komula, Magnus Caris and Jani Haavisto to qualify for the 2014 PDC World Championship. At the World Championship, Lindskjold was supposed to face Edward Santos in the preliminary round but due to visa trouble for the Philippine, Lindskjold faced Colin Osborne instead. The 2014 Ladbrokes World Darts Championship was the 21st World Championship organised by the Professional Darts Corporation since it separated from the British Darts Organisation. The event took place at the Alexandra Palace, London between 13 December 2013 and 1 January 2014. Phil Taylor was the defending champion, having won his 16th title in 2013, but he lost 4–3 to Michael Smith in the second round. Terry Jenkins and Kyle Anderson recorded both televised nine-dart finishes during the event, in their first-round matches against Per Laursen and Ian White, respectively. Michael van Gerwen won his first World Championship by defeating Peter Wright 7–4 in the final. He became the sixth winner of the event and, at the age of 24, the youngest. Justin Pipe
Justin Pipe (born 9 November 1971) is an English former professional darts player who has played in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He was a former top 10 player. Playing career Pipe was a boxer in his youth, and, as a staunch anti-smoker, he refused to play darts in local pubs as the cigarette smoke would make his eyes water. In 2007, a smoking ban was introduced to England which enabled him to restart his darts career. He first emerged at the 2008 UK Open as a pub qualifier. He defeated Geoff Wylie and Lionel Sams before losing 9–3 to James Wade in the third round. Following this performance, he joined the PDC Pro Tour and reached the same stage of the UK Open a year later, this time losing 9–5 against Andy Jenkins.
