Janet Sape
Janet Kaki Sape (1959 - 28 July 2017) was a business leader and international netball player, coach and administrator from Papua New Guinea. She was active in promoting women's empowerment issues in the country, and received a number of awards for her work. Netball In the 1980s, Sape founded the Lae-based netball club DSA Sisters. The club got its name because most of the players were sisters. Sape represented her country in the 1987 World Netball Championships in Scotland, and also in a number of tournaments in Oceania. One tournament she participated in was the Pacific Games. During her time as a member of the national team, she also served as the captain. She retired from international play in 1989. Sape later coached the national team. She was at the helm for the 1995 South Pacific Games, when Papua New Guinea took home a silver medal. Players she coached on this level included Gamini Koroka. Wabag
Wabag is the capital of Enga Province, Papua New Guinea. It is the least populous provincial capital in the country. It is on the Lai River; the Highlands Highway passes through the town, between Mount Hagen and Porgera. 1987 World Netball Championships
The 1987 World Netball Championships was the seventh edition of the INF Netball World Cup held in Glasgow, Scotland. This quadrennial premier event in international netball featured 17 teams, and included the debut of Cook Islands. The format of the 1987 edition was similar to the previous edition with the teams separated into two groups with the top two continuing on to the final round. Enga Province
Enga is one of the provinces in Papua New Guinea (PNG). It is located in the north most region of the highlands of PNG, having been divided from the Western Highlands to become a separate province when the provinces were created at the time of independence in 1975. The people of Enga are called Engans—they are a majority ethnic group—speaking one language in all its five districts: approximately 500,000 people. Leukemia
Leukemia ( also spelled leukaemia and pronounced ) is a group of blood cancers that usually begin in the bone marrow and result in high numbers of abnormal blood cells. These blood cells are not fully developed and are called ''blasts'' or ''leukemia cells''. Symptoms may include bleeding and bruising, bone pain, fatigue, fever, and an increased risk of infections. These symptoms occur due to a lack of normal blood cells. Diagnosis is typically made by blood tests or bone marrow biopsy. The exact cause of leukemia is unknown. A combination of genetic factors and environmental (non-inherited) factors are believed to play a role.
