Janet Manyowa
Janet Manyowa is a Zimbabwean gospel musician. Early background Janet Manyowa was born in Harare and resided in Chegutu. Her parents identified her passion for music and they sent her to music school at the age of ten. Her career started when she was leading praise and worship in her hometown church. Career Janet Manyowa released her debut album, ''King of Glory'' in August 2015 following the success of the singles ''Amazing God'' and ''Ndomira Pamuri'' followed by her second album ''Grateful'' which was launched in 2017 at the Celebration Centre Auditorium. The launch event featured prominent South African gospel musicians Dr Tumi, Ntokozo Mbambo and Nqubeko Mbatha who she featured on the song, ''You Are More''. At the start of 2017, Janet launched a new TV talk show called Redeemed. Chegutu
Chegutu (formerly Hartley) is a town in Mashonaland West Province, Zimbabwe. Location The town is located in Chegutu District, Mashonaland West, in central northern Zimbabwe. It lies in the Hartley Hills , southwest of the capital Harare at an altitude of above sea level. Population The 1982 population census recorded 19,621 inhabitants, rising to 30,122 by 1992. The population was estimated at 36,000 in 2002. By 2012 it had grown to 50,590 inhabitants. Transportation Chegutu lies on the A5 highway between Harare and Bulawayo. Power FM Zimbabwe
Power FM is a Zimbabwean state owned urban music radio station that broadcasts nationwide on FM. It was previously known as Radio 3 and later 3FM. The station was set up soon after the country got its independence in 1980 to cater for the urban youth. When it launched, it was broadcasting for 19 hours a day. It became a 24 hour station in the late 90s. The station was renamed to Power FM in 2004, at the time when it was broadcasting 100% Zimbabwean music, a law that was enforced by the former Zimbabwe's Information and Broadcasting minister, Jonathan Moyo. Many Zimbabweans still criticise the former minister for dismantling the station and changing the format and names of all 4 national radio stations and the country's only TV station at the time. Star FM Music Awards 2019
The 2019 Star FM Music Awards were held on February 1, 2019, at Zimbali Gardens in Harare, Zimbabwe. The awards identify musical excellence, providing a multifaceted celebration of the rich cultural diversity of Zimbabwean music. The 'Tsvigiri' singer took home five awards in the following categories: Best Afro Pop Song, Best Collaboration, Best Male Artist, Best Album and Most Played Song. Janet Manyowa and Enzo Ishall won two awards each. The former emerged tops in the Best Gospel Song and Best Female Artist categories while Enzo Ishal triumphed in the Best Newcomer and Best Zimdancehall categories. The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) is the public broadcaster in South Africa, and provides 19 radio stations ( AM/ FM) as well as six television broadcasts to the general public. ZiFM Stereo
ZiFM Stereo is a Zimbabwean private commercial radio station that is based in the country's capital, Harare. It broadcasts throughout the country on FM. It began broadcasting on 15 August 2012. It is Zimbabwe's first free to air radio station to stream online. It is also known to be the country's first privately owned radio station. It was launched just months after the launch of the state owned Star FM, which started broadcasting on 25 June of the same year. ZiFM took part in the historical tribute to the veteran Zimbabwean broadcaster, Peter Johns who died in London on 27 April 2020.
