Jane Michele Raybould
Jane Michele Raybould is a member of the Nebraska Legislature from Lincoln, Nebraska, in District 28. She is a former member of the Lincoln city council. Raybould works with her family at their employee-owned grocery business, B&R Stores, as vice chairman and director of buildings and equipment. She oversees capital investments and real estate developments, remodels and construction, and property management. Raybould served as a Lancaster County commissioner from 2010 to 2014. She was chosen by Democratic gubernatorial nominee Chuck Hassebrook to be his running mate as lieutenant governor in the 2014 Nebraska gubernatorial election, ultimately losing to Governor Pete Ricketts and his running mate Mike Foley. Patty Pansing Brooks
Patty Pansing Brooks (born September 30, 1958) is an American attorney and politician who served as a member of the Nebraska Legislature from the 28th district. Elected in November 2014, she assumed office on January 7, 2015. Early life and education Pansing Brooks was born on September 30, 1958, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Pansing Brooks graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School in 1976. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Colorado College in 1980 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1984. Nebraska Legislature Pansing Brooks served on a number of Lincoln community boards, and co-chaired several fundraising efforts, including the raising of $9.6 million for the renovation of Centennial Mall and $6 million for Union Plaza. Classes Of United States Senators
The 100 seats in the United States Senate are divided into three classes for the purpose of determining which seats will be up for election in any two-year cycle, with only one class being up for election at a time. With senators being elected to fixed terms of six years, the classes allow about a third of the seats to be up for election in any presidential or midterm election year instead of having all 100 be up for election at the same time every six years. The seats are also divided in such a way that any given state's two senators are in different classes so that each seat's term ends in different years. Nebraska () is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States. Bob Kerrey
Joseph Robert Kerrey (born August 27, 1943) is an American politician who served as the 35th Governor of Nebraska from 1983 to 1987 and as a United States Senator from Nebraska from 1989 to 2001. Before entering politics, he served in the Vietnam War as a United States Navy SEAL officer and was awarded the Medal of Honor for heroism in combat. During the action for which he was awarded the Medal of Honor, he was severely wounded, precluding further naval service. Kerrey was a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1992. He retired from the Senate in 2000 and was replaced by former Governor and fellow Democrat Ben Nelson. From 2001 to 2010, he served as president of The New School, a university in New York City. Lynne Walz is a Nebraska Senator for the Unicameral. She currently represents District 15 which includes Fremont, NE and surrounding areas. She is a member of the Democratic Party but the Nebraska Unicameral is a nonpartisan elected body. Early life and education Walz was born in Fremont, Nebraska and graduated from Arlington High School in 1981.
