Jane Kennedy (actress)
Jane Kennedy (born 9 June 1964) is an Australian actress, comedian, radio presenter and television producer, best known for her work with Working Dog Productions, a group of performers responsible for a variety of television and films. She previously was a co-host of ''KennedyMolloy'' on Triple M with Mick Molloy. Career She met the other members of the group, which over time included Tom Gleisner, Rob Sitch, Santo Cilauro, Tony Martin, Mick Molloy, and Jason Stephens among others, while working on Melbourne commercial radio on the ''D-Generation Breakfast Show''. Kennedy was not originally a member of the group, but was the newsreader assigned to work with them during their timeslot. The team quickly made a game of trying to make her laugh while she read the news. Their frequent success led to Kennedy joining the D-Generation as a full time member and she continued to work with them on the radio show. The Dish
''The Dish'' is a 2000 Australian historical comedy-drama film that tells the story of the Parkes Observatory's role in relaying live television of humanity's first steps on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. It was the top-grossing Australian film in 2000. Plot An old man drives up to the Parkes Radio Telescope to admire the dish. A technician gently cautions him that he's driven in through "the old entrance", and is therefore trespassing. Requesting that the man leave immediately, the technician encourages him to visit the observatory's nearby visitor center and take the tour, as the dish has seen some amazing times. The old man thoughtfully agrees. The movie flashes back to July, 1969, days before the launch of Apollo 11. ''Thank God You're Here'' is an Australian television improvised comedy program created by Working Dog Productions, which premiered on Network Ten on 5 April 2006, and aired for the first three seasons and on Seven for the fourth season. Each episode involves performers walking through a door into an unknown situation, greeted by the line "Thank God you're here!". They then had to improvise their way through the scene. At the end of each episode a winner was announced. It was the most successful new show in Australia of 2006, attracting an average of 1.7 million viewers after the first few episodes. The show is hosted by Shane Bourne, and is judged by Tom Gleisner. The format was sold for recreation in a number of countries.
