Janata Bank Ltd. ( bn, জনতা ব্যাংক লিমিটেড) is a state-owned commercial bank of Bangladesh established in 1972. Its headquarters is situated at Motijheel in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. It is the second largest commercial bank in Bangladesh. In 2019, Janata Bank had a fiscal deficit of 82.56 billion taka, the highest of any bank in Bangladesh ever. It's the worst performing public bank in Bangladesh. History Following the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan at the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, Janata Bank Limited was formed combining the then United Bank Limited and Union Bank Limited under the Bank Nationalization Ordinance of 1972 (President's Order 26). In March 2004, managing director of the bank, Murshid Kuli Khan, visited Greece to study the feasibility of remittance from the country. Root Group
In vascular plants, the roots are the organs of a plant that are modified to provide anchorage for the plant and take in water and nutrients into the plant body, which allows plants to grow taller and faster. They are most often below the surface of the soil, but roots can also be aerial or aerating, that is, growing up above the ground or especially above water. High Court Division
The High Court Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh ( bn, হাইকোর্ট ডিভিশন) popularly known as the 'High Court' is one of the two divisions of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, the other division being the Appellate Division. It consists of the Chief Justice of Bangladesh and the Judges of the High Court Division. Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury
Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury (born 18 May 1961) is a Bangladeshi justice of the High Court Division Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He was appointed in 2003. Early life Chowdhury was born on 18 May 1961. Hs father was Justice A. F. M. Abdur Rahman Chowdhury. He completed his bachelors and masters in law from the University of Dhaka. Career Chowdhury started working as a lawyer on 3 March 1985. He was elevated to a lawyer of the High Court Division on 17 May 1987. Luna Shamsuddoha
Luna Shamsuddoha (4 October 1953 – 17 February 2021) was a Bangladeshi entrepreneur. She was the chairman of the software firm Dohatec New Media, in Dhaka Bangladesh, which she founded in 1992. Hedayetullah Al Mamoon is a retired Senior Secretary at the Ministry of Finance of Bangladesh and the chairperson of Janata Bank. Career Mamun joined the Bangladesh Civil Service in 1982.
