Janamat Party
The Janamat Party ( ne, जनमत पार्टी, lit=Public Opinion Party) is a Nepalese political party. The party stands as a national party in Nepal and is the seventh-largest party since the 2022 general election. History Formation Formerly known as Alliance for Independent Madhesh, it was formed by former secessionist leader C. K. Raut. It was formed after signing an 11-point agreement with the government of Nepal and resulted in ending his separatist movement with KP Oli. The party was formed on 18 March 2019 after a two-day conclave held on 17–18 March in front of 50 delegates representing 22 districts of Nepal's Terai region. A three-member committee headed by Chandan Singh was formed to implement the deal signed with the government. Aimed at expanding the party's strength, a 35-member central working committee was also formed under Raut's leadership. 2022 Nepalese General Election
General elections are expected to be held in Nepal in November 2022 unless the House of Representatives is dissolved earlier. The discussion is underway due to interest of leading Nepali Congress while the opposition, CPN (UML), is already demanding a fresh mandate. Dissolution and reinstatement Although the House was dissolved on 20 December 2020 by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, with elections scheduled for 30 April and 10 May 2021, the legitimacy of the dissolution was challenged in the Supreme Court. Lumbinī ( ne, लुम्बिनी, IPA=ˈlumbini , "the lovely") is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the Rupandehi District of Lumbini Province in Nepal. It is the place where, according to Buddhist tradition, Queen Mahamayadevi gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama at around 566 BCE. Madheshi People
Madheshi people ( ne, मधेशी) is a term used for several groups of people living in the Terai region of Nepal, literally meaning the people of ''Madhesh''. It has also been used as a political pejorative term by the Pahari people of Nepal to refer to non-pahari people with a non-Nepali language as their mother tongue, regardless of their place of birth or residence. The term ''Madheshi'' became a widely recognised name for Nepali citizens with an Indian cultural background only after 1990.
