Jan Huyghebaert
Jan, Baron Huyghebaert (born 1945) is a Belgium, Belgian businessman. He was a member of the Coudenberg group, a Belgian federalist think tank. Education He obtained a degree in Philosophy, Language and Literature from the University of Antwerp (Antwerp, Belgium) and a doctorate in Law from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Leuven, Belgium). Career During his career, he held various government functions, including as adviser to the Belgian Prime Minister, Leo Tindemans, and as Alderman of the Port of Antwerp. He was President of the Executive Committee of the KBC Bank, Kredietbank (forerunner of KBC) from 1985 to 1991 and was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Almanij in 1991. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors (term expires in 2008) of the KBC Group and in addition, he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of KB Luxembourg. The Coudenberg group ( nl, Coudenberggroep, french: Groupe Coudenberg) was a Belgian federalist think-tank, it was named after the place where the members met, the Coudenberg, one of the seven hillocks on which the centre of Brussels has been built. Leonard Clemence "Leo" Tindemans (; 16 April 1922 – 26 December 2014) was a Belgian politician. He served as the prime minister of Belgium serving from 25 April 1974 until he resigned as minister on 20 October 1978. He was a member of the Christian Democratic and Flemish party. Early life Tindemans was born in Zwijndrecht, Belgium, to a Catholic family. Political career Early career Tindemans was affiliated with the CVP. Almanij (for ''Algemene'' ''Maatschappij'' voor ''Nijverheidskrediet'', "General Company for Industry") was a Belgian holding company active in financial services, created in 1931 and merged into KBC Group in March 2005. History Almanij was incorporated in 1931 as an initiative of the Catholic Algemeene Bankvereeniging, a Belgian bank founded by the ''Leuvense Volksbank'' (Leuven) in Antwerp in 1921.
