Jammu And Kashmir National Panthers Party
The Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party is a socialist and secular state political party in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The party was founded on 23 March 1982 by Prof. Bhim Singh and a few prominent youth political personalities of the time including Jay Mala, former President of the Indian Students Congress. Its aim is to "demolish corruption, communalism, criminalization, drug menace" and to establish a real democracy through ultimate revolution. Panthers Party had campaigned for over three decades for the abolition of Article 370 and Article 35A, demanding that the special status of the State of Jammu and Kashmir be revoked, and for it to be fully assimilated into the Republic of India. Jay Mala
Jay Mala is an Indian journalist, politician, advocate and social activist. She is a senior advocate of the Supreme Court of India, who has filed over 600 cases and won each one, including a 1985 landmark case where she sued the State of Jammu and Kashmir changing tort law in India. She was co-founder of the Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party in 1982, and in 2022 became Chairperson of the Panthers Party Working Committee. During the period of insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir, she was one of only seven females candidates, out of a total 512 candidates in the 1983 Jammu and Kashmir general election. 2022 Indian Vice Presidential Election
Article 56(1) of the Constitution of India provides that the Vice President of India shall remain in office for a period of five years. 2019 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to elect the members of the 17th Lok Sabha. Votes were counted and the result was declared on 23 May. The Jammu division (; ) is a revenue and administrative division within Jammu and Kashmir, a union territory of India.
