James 'Jamie' Ashley Stuart Spires (born 12 November 1976) is an English cricketer. Spires is a right-handed batsman who bowls slow left-arm orthodox. He was born in Solihull, Warwickshire and educated at Solihull School. Spires made his debut in first-class cricket for Warwickshire against Middlesex in 2001. From 2001 to 2002, he represented the county in 7 first-class matches, the last of which came against Sussex in the County Championship. In his 7 first-class matches, he scored 70 runs at a batting average of 17.50, with a high score of 37 *. In the field he took 3 catches. With the ball he took 20 wickets at a bowling average of 38.40, with a single five wicket haul which yielded his career best figures of 5/165. Caught is a method of dismissing a batsman in cricket. A batsman is out caught if the batsman hits the ball, from a legitimate delivery, with the bat, and the ball is caught by the bowler or a fielder before it hits the ground. St George's Road, Millom
St George's Road is a cricket ground located off St George's Road in Millom, Cumberland. The ground is bordered to the south–east by the Cumbrian Coast Line and to the north and west by housing. It is the home venue of Millom Cricket Club. History Constructed prior to 1925, the first recorded match on the ground saw Cumberland play a North Lancashire League team in 1925. Cumberland first played at the ground the 1961 Minor Counties Championship against the Lancashire Second XI. The county played four further Minor Counties Championship matches there in the 1960s, before a single match annually there between 1971 and 1994, with the exception of 1977, when no match was played there. The 2002 Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy was an English limited overs county cricket tournament which was held between 29 August 2001 and 31 August 2002.
