Jamie Caliri
Jamie Caliri (born February 22, 1970 in Buffalo, New York) is an American director, known primarily for music videos, television commercials and title sequences. Between 1988 and 1992, he studied film, design, and animation at the California Institute of the Arts. He is also a self-taught still photographer. He has been signed to production companies Acme Filmworks (ca. 1992–ca. 1994), Duck Soup Studios (1994–1995) and its division The Front (1995–1997), MJZ and its satellite Stimmung (1997–ca. 1999), and to Windmill Lane and its subsidiary Pusher (2003–ca. 2005). He has directed commercials for Children's Medical Center (Dallas) (2010), Fruitopia (1997), KCRW (1996), Pier 1 Imports, and United Airlines (2006 and 2008), among others. In 2006, he was asked to explore animation concepts for a feature film adaptation of ''The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay''. Stop motion is an animated filmmaking technique in which objects are physically manipulated in small increments between individually photographed frames so that they will appear to exhibit independent motion or change when the series of frames is played back. Any kind of object can thus be animated, but puppets with movable joints (puppet animation) or plasticine figures (''clay animation'' or claymation) are most commonly used. Cherry Poppin' Daddies
The Cherry Poppin' Daddies are an American swing and ska band established in Eugene, Oregon, in 1989. Formed by singer-songwriter Steve Perry and bassist Dan Schmid, the band has experienced numerous personnel changes over the course of its 30-year history, with only Perry, Schmid and trumpeter Dana Heitman currently remaining from the original founding lineup. Black Lab is an alternative rock band founded by Paul Durham in Berkeley, California and currently based in Los Angeles and Montana. "Sex and Candy" is a song by American alternative rock group Marcy Playground, a single from their 1997 self-titled debut album. It is a post-grunge song with psychedelic elements. Lead singer John Wozniak was inspired to write the song after a woman told him that a room smelled like "sex and candy." The song's abstract lyrics refer to the disco era and include hippie lingo. In 1997, Wozniak said that "Sex and Candy" is an unorthodox love song; later, he said he does not know what the song means. It was released to radio on the week of September 15, 1997. Marcy Playground is an American alternative rock band consisting of three members: John Wozniak (lead vocals, guitar), Dylan Keefe (bass), and Shlomi Lavie (drums).
