Jamia Darussalam is an Arabic college founded in 1924 by Kaka Mohammed Oomer in Oomerabad. Jamia Darussalam is an Islamic institution in south India. History Jamia Darussalam is an Islamic university founded by an animal skin merchant, Kaka Mohammed Oomer, who laid the foundation for this institution on 7 December 1924 at the newly founded village, named after him as Oomerabad. It came into existence with a program of offering services to cater to the religious, educational, reformative and welfare needs of Muslims and the country at large. Education Jamia Darussalam provides education in various Islamic disciplines. It offers postgraduate, undergraduate, diploma and certificate courses. The term "Islamic university" ( ar, الجامعة الإسلامية, ''Jami'ah Islamiyah''), sometimes called madrasah jāmiʿah ( ar, مدرسة جامعة), can be used to describe secular educational institutions that were founded by people of Islamic tradition as well as institutions that focus on teaching Islam as a main curriculum. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind ( ur, جماعتِ اسلامی ہند, abbreviated as JIH) is an Islamic organisation in India, founded as an offshoot of the Jamaat-e-Islami, which split into separate independent organisations in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh following the Partition of India in 1947. Islam is the ideology of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. Its structure is based on its belief on the three-fold concept of the Oneness and sovereignty of God (Monotheism), the Concept of Prophet-hood and the Concept of Life after Death. Ziya-ur-Rahman Azmi
Ziya-ur-Rahman Azmi (also written as Dhiya-ur-Rahman A'zamī; 1943 – 30 July 2020) was an Indian-born Saudi Arabian Islamic scholar who served as the Dean of the Department of Hadith at the Islamic University of Madinah. He is known for his compilation of hadith titled a''l-Jaami’ ul-kamil fi al-hadith al-sahih al-shamil''. Biography Ziya-ur-Rahman Azmi was born Banke Laal into a Hindu Family in 1943 in Azamgarh. Aged 15, he embraced Islam in 1960. He received his primary education in a local school and then enrolled at the Shibli National College in Azamgarh. He began studying the traditional dars-e-nizami at the Jamia Darussalam in Oomerabad, and received a B.A. and an M.A. in Islamic studies from the Islamic University of Madinah and the Umm al-Qura University respectively.
