Flint Central High School
Flint Central High School was one of the Flint Community Schools, located in Flint, Michigan, USA. Flint Central was the city's oldest school. Its first building was built in 1875, and the school moved into the present building in 1923. It was called Flint High School until Flint Northern High School was built in around 1928. Approximately 2,000 students attended the school at its peak attendance, and about half that at the time of its closing. Graduation ceremonies were held at Whiting Auditorium. The school building is located in the East Village, near the corner of Crapo Street and Court Street. History In April 2009 the Board of Education voted to close the school due to declining enrollment and maintenance costs. Larry Ford (politician)
Larry Creed Ford Sr. (September 29, 1950 – March 2, 2000) was a biomedical researcher and gynaecologist from Irvine, California, United States who was suspected of conspiring to murder his business partner, James Patrick Riley and subsequently found to have stored lethal biological toxins in his home and office. Death On February 28, 2000, Ford's business partner at Biofem, Inc., James Patrick Riley, was shot and wounded by a masked gunman at the company's office near the Irvine Spectrum. The company had been working on a suppository microbicide that worked as a contraceptive and also claimed to prevent AIDS. Police quickly discovered that the driver of the gunman's getaway van, Dino D'Saachs, made a phone call to Ford the morning of the attack. Prosecutors alleged Ford was behind the attempted murder. Buick City was a name applied to the former Buick home plant following major renovations completed during the early 1980s to better compete with Japanese producers. The plant was a massive automobile manufacturing complex in the northeast of Flint, Michigan. Elements of the complex dated from before 1904, when it was known as Flint Wagon Works. Once General Motors assumed operations all aspects of Buick vehicles were constructed, and it became known as "Buick City" in 1985.
