James Nitties
James Evangelo Nitties (born 23 October 1982) is an Australian professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and now plays on the PGA Tour of Australasia. Amateur career Nitties was born in Melbourne, Australia. He suffered from juvenile arthritis as a child and young adult, which restricted his flexibility. This caused him to have to take pain killers to restrict the pain from his back. In 2003, he won the New Zealand Amateur and finished second at the Western Amateur to Ryan Moore in 19 holes. He turned professional in 2004. Professional career In 2004, Nitties joined the NGA Hooters Tour where he played for three years, winning once. While he played the Hooters Tour, he played a select few of events on the Nationwide Tour and the PGA Tour of Australasia. The South Pacific Open Championship was a golf tournament held at Tina Golf Club, Nouméa, New Caledonia from 2011 to 2016. It was a Tier 2 event on the Australasian Tour. Peter O'Malley (golfer)
Peter O'Malley (born 23 June 1965) is an Australian professional golfer. Early life O'Malley was born in Bathurst, New South Wales. Amateur career O'Malley won the Australian Junior Championship and the New Zealand Amateur in 1986. Professional career O'Malley turned professional in 1987. He has won several times on the PGA Tour of Australasia, but spent most of the year playing on the European Tour. He was runner-up to Mark James in his first European Tour event, the 1989 Dubai Desert Classic, and has since won three titles on the European Tour. Perhaps the most famous of these three victories was his Scottish Open win which he played the last five holes in seven under par to snatch victory. He made the top-100 on the European Tour Order of Merit every year from 1989 through to 2007, with a best ranking of tenth in 1995. Victorian PGA Championship
The Victorian PGA Championship is a golf tournament played in Victoria, Australia. It has been part of the PGA Tour of Australasia each season since 2009. It is the oldest of the state professional championships, having been first held in 1922. History The first Victorian Professional Championship was held in November 1922 and was open to any professional in Australia and New Zealand. It was a 72-hole stroke-play event with 36 holes played at Royal Melbourne on 6 November and 36 holes played at Victoria Golf Club two day later. It attracted a number of New South Wales players as well as the professionals from Victoria. Billy Iles and Dan Soutar, one of the NSW players, were tied on 158 after the first day's play. Mark John Calcavecchia (born June 12, 1960) is an American professional golfer and a former PGA Tour member. During his professional career, he won 13 PGA Tour events, including the 1989 Open Championship. He plays on the Champions Tour as well as a limited PGA Tour schedule that includes The Open Championship. Early years Calcavecchia was born in Laurel, Nebraska. While he was a teenager, his family moved from Nebraska to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1973. ISPS Handa Vic Open
The Vic Open is an annual golf tournament held in Australia. It was founded in 1957 and is the Victoria state open championship for men. It is run by Golf Victoria and is a Golf Australia national ranking event. The event is held concurrently with the Women's Victorian Open and offers equal prize pool for the two events. The tournament's tag line is: "Men and women. On the same course. At the same time. For equal prize money." The men and women play on the same course at the same time in alternating groups. History The first Victorian Open was played at Riversdale in 1957, replacing the Victorian Close Championship which had been first held in 1948. The AdventHealth Championship is a Korn Ferry Tour event that was played for the first time in 2009 as the Christmas in October Classic.
