James Love (musician)
James Love is a Canadian guitarist from British Columbia. From 2010 to 2016, he was a member of the Canadian new wave/synthpop band Men Without Hats. Musical career A graduate of the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery, Love toured as a guitar technician in the road crew of Fenix TX, a Houston pop punk band. He joined the group as a full member in early 2001, replacing Damon DeLaPaz as guitarist after the departure of drummer Donnie Reyes caused DeLaPaz to move to drums. Love played on the band's final studio album, '' Lechuza'', released in May 2001, and after a concert tour, he left the group later the same year. From 2004 to 2006, Love toured with the Dillinger Escape Plan, and became a member of that band in 2013. Love was also in a Houston-based heavy metal band called Torches of Fury, with whom he recorded the group's self-titled 2006 EP. Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. Ivan Eugene Doroschuk (, ), born 9 October 1957, is an American-born Canadian musician. He is the lead vocalist and founding member of Men Without Hats, best known for the hit song "The Safety Dance". Early life Ivan Doroschuk was born on 9 October 1957 in Champaign, Illinois to Ukrainian-Canadian parents Eugene and Betty Doroschuk. Doroschuk and his younger brothers Stefan and Colin were born in the United States while their father was pursuing a doctorate at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. Eugene Doroschuk received his PhD in 1962, and accepted a teaching position at the Université de Montréal. Betty Doroschuk became a member of the music faculty at Montreal's McGill University, teaching classical voice. The three brothers, all classically trained musicians, grew up in the Montreal borough of Outremont, Quebec. MCA Records was an American record label owned by MCA Inc., which later became part of Universal Music Group. ''Love in the Age of War'', released in 2012, is the seventh studio album by Canadian new wave group Men Without Hats. Production ''Love in the Age of War'', originally expected to be titled ''Folk of the 80's (Part IV)'', was the first studio album by Men Without Hats after a hiatus of over eight years. It featured ten original songs written by Ivan Doroschuk. It is the group's only album to feature guitarist James Love, who was replaced by Sho Murray in late 2016. It is also the only album to feature keyboardists Mark Olexson, who was replaced by Rachel Ashmore after the album was released, and Louise Dawson. The songs were written by Doroschuk "in the back of the bus" while touring in the summer of 2011 with The Human League, and were recorded from December 2011 to February 2012. Dillinger Escape Plan
The Dillinger Escape Plan was an American metalcore band. The band was formed in 1997 in Morris Plains, New Jersey by guitarist Ben Weinman, bassist Adam Doll, vocalist Dimitri Minakakis, and drummer Chris Pennie. The band's use of odd time signatures, polyrhythms and unconventional drum patterns became a staple of their sound, although later albums incorporated more melody, and influences from a range of genres.
