James French (racing Driver)
James French (born May 21, 1992) is an American professional racing driver. Racing career Growing up in Wisconsin French started karting at age five at the Road America Motorplex. In his final season at the Road America Kart Club French finished second in the 80cc Shifter class. Club racing French made his debut in the C Sports Racer class at Road America in May 2008. He also raced against his father Brian in the Central Division SCCA championship. The father-son duo also raced at the June Sprints with Brian winning the class, and James finishing in second place. The following season James won the championship in a Swift 014.a with added bodywork. The younger French won also the June Sprints and placed third at the prestigious SCCA National Championship Runoffs. Ralt
Ralt was a manufacturer of single-seater racing cars, founded by ex-Jack Brabham associate Ron Tauranac after he sold out his interest in Brabham to Bernie Ecclestone. Ron and his brother had built some specials in Australia in the 1950s under the Ralt name (standing for Ron and Austin Lewis Tauranac). Tauranac won the 1954 NSW Hillclimb Championship in the Ralt 500. Cars Early Ralts Built with the assistance of Tauranac's younger brother, Austin, in Australia. The Mk was powered by a 1,932cc pushrod Norton ES2. Tauranac made his own flywheel, connecting rods, and cylinders. Rusty Mitchell
Rusty Mitchell (born November 29, 1982) is an American racing driver from Midland, Texas. In 2007 and 2008 Mitchel drove in Formula SCCA competition, winning the June Sprints and Southwest Division title in 2007 and finishing second in the Southwest division in 2008. In 2008 he also made his Star Mazda Series debut driving for his own team in nine races and finishing 17th in the championship. In 2009 he drove full-time in Star Mazda and finished 12th in points. In 2010 he returned to Star Mazda, merging his team with Juncos Racing in the middle of the season, he again finished 9th in the championship. In 2011 he has signed with Intersport Racing to drive in the American Le Mans Series' LMPC class and signed with Team E to make his Firestone Indy Lights debut at the Long Beach Grand Prix. Tomy Drissi
Tomy Drissi ( ; born December 9, 1958) is an American professional stock and sports car racing driver, and an advertising executive in the movie industry. A long-time competitor in the Sports Car Club of America's Trans-Am Series, he was the series' 2009 Champion. Racing career Drissi first became involved in motorsports through his participation in illegal street racing, primarily on Mulholland Drive in Hollywood's Hollywood Hills, starting at the age of 16. He began legitimate competition in 1993, when he became involved in vintage racing, primarily at Willow Springs Raceway. Drissi's driving style proved "too aggressive" for the fragile vintage cars, and he moved to standard, modern race cars, making his debut in professional racing in 1999. The 16th Annual Petit Le Mans presented by Mazda was the 2013 edition of the Petit Le Mans automotive endurance race, held on October 16–19, 2013, at the Road Atlanta circuit in Braselton, Georgia, United States. Kyle Marcelli (born 23 February 1990) is a Canadian racing driver who currently competes in the Michelin Pilot Challenge. Career Marcelli began his racing career in karts in 2005, before moving into single seaters for the 2006 Bridgestone F2000 Racing Series, in which he finished second. In December 2014, Marcelli was a part of the Davidson Racing team that won the yearly 25 Hours of Thunderhill, driving a Norma prototype chassis alongside co-drivers Randy Pobst, Alex Lloyd, and Brian Frisselle. For the following Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season, Marcelli signed with Mantella Autosport. He would spend just one season with the team, joining Performance Tech Motorsports for the full WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season in 2016. 2012 Road Race Showcase
The 2012 Road America Road Race Showcase was a multi-class sports car and GT motor race held at Road America in Wisconsin, United States on August 18, 2012. It was the seventh round of the 2012 American Le Mans Series season and the 45th race in the combined history of sportscar races associated with the Road America 500. The race was held over a four-hour period, during which 101 laps of the 6.5-kilometer circuit were completed for a race distance of 658 kilometers. A year after Muscle Milk Pickett Racing team had beaten the Dyson Racing Team by less than 0.2 seconds, Dyson Racing Team beat the Muscle Milk team by less than 0.1 seconds, giving Dyson Racing Team its first victory at Road America. Intersport Racing
Intersport Racing is a former American auto racing team founded by Jon Field. The team was based in Dublin, Ohio. They previously operated two Oreca FLM09 sports cars in the American Le Mans Series. At current, the company has transitioned into diet supplements. History Beginnings The team was founded in 1998 by IMSA GT Championship driver Jon Field. Pickett bought a Riley & Scott Mk III and raced it in the WSC class. Car number 28 made its début at the 1998 12 Hours of Sebring with Field joined by Butch Brickell and Rick Sutherland but retired after 173 laps. The team finished fourth in the WSC standings. 1999 saw the birth of the American Le Mans Series. The Le Mans Prototype Challenge (shortened to LMP Challenge or LMPC) was a spec sports prototype formula created by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO), organisers of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and sports car constructor Oreca. The formula is intended as part of a ladder system for young and upcoming drivers into the world of endurance racing while also serving as a value engineered entry for drivers and teams into Le Mans Prototypes due to limitations on manufacturers and suppliers. Initially launched as an independent racing series known as the Formula Le Mans Cup in 2009, the formula has since been expanded to allow participation in three separate series for 2010. The American Le Mans Series (ALMS) was a sports car racing series based in the United States and Canada. It consisted of a series of endurance and sprint races, and was created in the spirit of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The American Le Mans' headquarters was in Braselton, Georgia, adjacent to Road Atlanta. In 2014, the series merged with the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series to form the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
