James Driscoll
James Driscoll (born October 9, 1977) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour. Amateur career Driscoll was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the youngest of seven children. He grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts, outside Boston. He started golf at a young age and won the club championship at his home club of Charles River at age 15. A year later, he won the Massachusetts Junior Championship. He then went on to win the Massachusetts State Amateur Championship in 1996 at the age of 18, becoming the youngest-ever winner of the tournament, and again in 1998. By the summer of 1996 Driscoll was the second-ranked junior in the country, and made the final of the U.S. Junior, losing to Scott Hailes. Jimmy Walker (golfer)
James William Walker (born January 16, 1979) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. After playing in 187 events without a win on the PGA Tour, Walker won three times in the first eight events of the 2014 season. He is a six-time winner on the PGA Tour, and in 2016 won his first major title at the PGA Championship. Kyle Thompson
Kyle Thompson (born April 25, 1979) is a former American professional golfer. Professional career Thompson is a former member of the PGA Tour. He played on the PGA Tour in 2018, 2012 and 2008, failing to keep his card each time. Thompson was a member of the Nationwide Tour from 2003 to 2007. He won two events in 2007 which put him in the top 25 on the money list which earned him a PGA Tour card for 2008. He returned to the Nationwide Tour in 2009 after making nine cuts in 26 events. Jason Buha
Jason Paul Buha (born February 6, 1975) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Nationwide Tour. Buha joined the PGA Tour in 2000, earning his card through qualifying school. He struggled during his rookie year on Tour and was unable to retain his Tour card. He joined the Nationwide Tour in 2001 where he recorded four top-10 finishes. The following year he recorded seven top-10 finishes and won the Dayton Open en route to an 11th-place finish on the money list, good enough for a PGA Tour card for 2003. He struggled in his return to the PGA Tour and returned to the Nationwide Tour in 2004. In his return to the Nationwide Tour he recorded five top-10 finished including two runner-up finishes. The North and South Men's Amateur Golf Championship, commonly known as the North and South Amateur, is an annual golf tournament held since 1901 at the Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA. Western Junior
The Western Junior is the oldest national junior golf tournament in the United States. It was founded in 1914 and is organized by the Western Golf Association. It is played at a different course each year, primarily in the midwest. From 1914 to 1998, it was played with stroke play qualifying followed by a match play championship. Since 1999, it has been a 72-hole stroke play tournament. The championship was first played in 1914 at Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton, Illinois and was won by Charles Grimes. The Western Junior draws the top junior players from more than 40 states and internationally each year. The field is limited to 156 entrants. Qualifying School
In professional golf, the term qualifying school is used for the annual qualifying tournaments for leading golf tours such as the U.S.-based PGA and LPGA Tours and the European Tour. A fixed number of players in the event win membership of the tour for the following season, otherwise known as a "tour card", meaning that they can play in most of the tour's events without having to qualify. They join the leaders on the previous year's money list/order of merit and certain other exempt players as members of the tour. Getting through the qualifying school of an elite tour is very competitive and most professional golfers never achieve it.
