James Dickson (Swedish Politician)
James Iwan Axel Dickson (18 March 1899 – 6 March 1980) was a Swedish politician, agronomist and chamberlain. Early life Dickson was born on 18 March 1899 in Gothenburg, Sweden, the son of Axel Dickson and his wife Nancy Bratt. He passed ''studentexamen'' at Lundsbergs boarding school in 1917 and gained an international flight certificate the same year. In 1920, Dickson was posted to the Swedish Army Air Force (''Arméflyget''). Three years later he graduated with a agronomist degree in Alnarp before making repeated trips to several European countries and to North America, Asia and Africa. Career Dickson became a ''Valet de chambre'' in 1928 and captain of the ''landstorm'' in 1938 and he served as captain of the Finnish Army during the Winter War from 1939 to 1940. A regional council ( sv, region) is a self-governing local authority. There are 21 regional councils (one of which is a municipality having the same responsibilities as a county council), each corresponding to a county. Regional councils are governed by a regional assembly (''regionfullmäktige'') that is elected by the regional electorate every four years in conjunction with the general elections. Alingsås () is a locality and the seat of Alingsås Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 24,482 inhabitants in 2010. Geography Geographically the city is situated by the outlet of the small rivulet Säveån into lake Mjörn. Transportation links are provided by the western main line railway (''Västra stambanan'') between Stockholm and Gothenburg, and by motorway through the European route E20. ''Barna Hedenhös'' (''The Hedenhös Children'') is the name of a series of Swedish children's books in the 1950s written by Bertil Almqvist. The story is set in the Stone Age and follows the Hedenhös family. ''Barna Hedenhös'' is mostly known as a book series, but Almqvist also made an (albeit limited) animated television series about the Hedenhös family that was broadcast on SVT in 1972. Additionally, Almqvist made a comic version of the Hedenhös books for the comic book '' Tuff och Tuss'' during the 1950s; the comic version was later remade for the Pelle Svanslös children's comic book in the 1970s.
