Jamaah Ansharut Daulah
Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD, literally ''Helpers of the State Congregation'') is an Indonesian group that has been reported to be linked to the 2018 Surabaya bombings as well as the 2019 Jolo Cathedral bombings. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has been reported as claiming responsibility for both attacks. The group had been identified by the United States Department of State as a terrorist organization in 2017. It is banned by Iraq and Indonesia. It is also listed as a terrorist organization by the United Nations Security Council on 4 March 2020. History The history of the JAD is still unclear, due to the secretive nature of the group. Surabaya Bombings
The 2018 Surabaya bombings were a series of terrorist attacks that initially occurred on 13 May 2018 in three churches in Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia and the capital of East Java province. The explosions occurred at Immaculate Saint Mary Catholic Church (''Gereja Katolik Santa Maria Tak Bercela'', SMTB) on Ngagel Madya Street; Indonesia Christian Church (''Gereja Kristen Indonesia'', GKI) on Diponegoro Street; and Surabaya Central Pentecost Church (''Gereja Pantekosta Pusat Surabaya'', GPPS) on Arjuno Street. 2016 Samarinda Church Bombing
A terrorist attack occurred on November 13, 2016 when a man named Juhanda detonated a Molotov bomb in front of Oikumene Church in Samarinda Seberang, Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Indonesia, where children were playing. A toddler was killed in the incident and three other toddlers were injured. In September 2017, Juhanda and four others were convicted of the attack, with Juhanda sentenced to life imprisonment, while the others received sentences ranging from six to seven years. The bombing was the second attack on church in Indonesia in 2016, with the first attack occurred in Medan on August when an ISIS sympathiser attacked a priest during a mass. It was also the second terror attack to occur in less than a month, after another ISIS sympathiser was shot dead after wounding three police officers with a machete in Tangerang. 2016 Jakarta Attacks
On 14 January 2016, multiple explosions and gunfire were reported near the Sarinah shopping mall in central Jakarta, Indonesia, at the intersection of Jalan Kyai Haji Wahid Hasyim and Jalan MH Thamrin. One blast went off in a Burger King restaurant outside the mall. The attack occurred near a United Nations (UN) information centre, as well as luxury hotels and foreign embassies. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) confirmed that a Dutch UN official was seriously injured in the attacks. It was reported an armed stand-off took place on the fourth level of the Menara Cakrawala (Skyline Building) on Jalan MH Thamrin. Nusa Kambangan
Nusa Kambangan (also Nusakambangan, Kambangan island, or Nusa Kambangan Island) island is located in Indonesia, separated by a narrow strait from the south coast of Java; the closest port is Cilacap in Central Java province. 2002 Bali Bombings
The 2002 Bali bombings occurred on 12 October 2002 in the tourist district of Kuta on the Indonesian island of Bali. The attack killed 202 people (including 88 Australians, 38 Indonesians, 23 Britons, and people of more than 20 other nationalities). A further 209 people were injured. Dulmatin
Dulmatin (6 or 16 June 1970 – 9 March 2010) was a senior figure in the militant Islamic group Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) and one of the most wanted terrorists in Southeast Asia. He was also known as ''Amar Usmanan'', ''Joko Pitoyo'', ''Joko Pitono'', ''Abdul Matin'', ''Pitono'', ''Muktarmar'', ''Djoko'', and ''Noval''. He also had the nickname "Genius". Dulmatin was an ethnic Javanese with a height of 172 cm, weighing 70 kg, with a brown complexion. Kota Jantho (''Jantho town'') is a small town in Aceh province of Indonesia. Jantho is the seat of local government for the Aceh Besar Regency.
