Jakarta Monorail
The Jakarta Monorail ( JET Monorail) was a cancelled monorail network project in Jakarta, Indonesia. If completed, it would have comprised two lines, totalling up to . The project had a tumultuous history. First awarded in 2003, the contract changed owners three times by 2005, before being abandoned with little more than some pillars built in 2008. The project was revived in February 2013, but cancelled again in 2015 due to financial problems and legal disputes. KRL Commuterline, or commonly known as Commuterline, is a commuter rail system for Greater Jakarta in Indonesia. It was previously known as KRL Jabodetabek. The National Monument ( id, Monumen Nasional, abbreviated Monas) is a 132 m (433 ft) obelisk in the centre of Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta, symbolizing the fight for Indonesia. It is the national monument of the Republic of Indonesia, built to commemorate the struggle for Indonesian independence. Construction began in 1961 under the direction of President Sukarno.
