Jail Killing
Jail Killing refers to the murder of four Awami League leaders in prison by the planners of army officers who launched the 15 August 1975 Bangladesh coup d'état. The four were former President Syed Nazrul Islam, former prime ministers Tajuddin Ahmed and Muhammad Mansur Ali, and President of Awami League Abul Hasnat Muhammad Qamaruzzaman Background President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was killed in the 15 August 1975 Bangladesh coup d'état and the Awami League government overthrown. History On 3 November 1975, Major General Khaled Mosharraf and Colonel Shafaat Jamil launched a counter coup to remove Khondaker Mostaq Ahmad and the killers of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from power. Abdul Majed
Abdul Majed (died 12 April 2020) was a Bangladeshi military officer who was convicted for his role in the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding president of Bangladesh. Career Majed was a captain in the Bangladesh Army. He was appointed to the Bangladeshi Embassy in Senegal. He retired from the Bangladesh Army in 1980 and joined the civil administration as a Deputy Secretary. He worked at the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation. He was promoted to the rank of Secretary. He joined the Ministry of Youth and Sports as the director of youth development. He was appointed the Director of National Savings Directorate. Surendra Kumar Sinha
Surendra Kumar Sinha (born 1 February 1951), commonly known as SK Sinha is a Bangladeshi lawyer and jurist who served as the 21st Chief Justice of Bangladesh. He resigned from the position in November 2017 amid the 16th amendment verdict controversy. Nazmun Ara Sultana (born July 8, 1950) first woman in Bangladesh to serve as head of an Appellate Division bench in Supreme Court. Nurul Islam Manzur ( bn, নূরুল ইসলাম মঞ্জুর; 26 May 1936 – 26 May 2020) was a former Bangladesh Awami League politician and the former State Minister of Communication in the cabinet of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Rashed Chowdhury
Rashed Chowdhury is a former Bangladesh Army officer. Chowdhury was a participant in the coup that led to the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur, the founding father and President of Bangladesh, in 1975. His specific role in the coup is in dispute. After the coup, the new constitution granted him and other conspirators immunity and he went on to work as a diplomat for the Bangladesh government. Sultan Shahriar Rashid Khan
Sultan Shahriar Rashid Khan (died 28 January 2010) was a Bangladeshi army officer who was convicted for the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father and then President of Bangladesh. He was executed by the government of Bangladesh for his role in the coup. On 28 January 2010, Rahman was hanged along with Syed Faruque Rahman, A.K.M. Syed Faruque Rahman (died 28 January 2010) was a coup member involved in toppling the Sheikh Mujib regime in Bangladesh. He was convicted and hanged on 28 January 2010 along with co-conspirators Sultan Shahriar Rashid Khan, A.K.M. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Mohiuddin Ahmed, and Mohammad Bazlul Huda in Dhaka Central Jail, Old Dhaka, for the murder of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founder and first President of Bangladesh. Nazmul Hossain Ansar is a Bangladesh Army officer and convicted for the 1975 Jail Killing of four national leaders of Bangladesh following the Assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the President of Bangladesh. Mohammad Kismat Hashem was a Bangladesh Army officer who was convicted for his role in the 1975 Jail Killing following the Assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the President of Bangladesh.
