Jahangir Park
Jahangir Park is a public park located in Saddar, Karachi, Pakistan. The park area is 6 acres for which the land was donated by Parsi philanthropist Khan Bahadur Behramjee Jehangirjee Rajkotwala in 1893. The park also hosted one first-class cricket match in 1956. History The park used to maintain a reading room where all daily and evening newspapers were made available. In 2017, the Government of Sindh spent on the renovation of the park. Saddar Subdivision
Saddar Town ( sd, صدر ٽائون; ur, ), lies in the central part of the city that formed much of the historic colonial core of Karachi. Saddar Town was formed in 2001 as part of The Local Government Ordinance 2001, and was subdivided into 11 union councils. The town system was disbanded in 2011, and Saddar Town was re-organized as part of Karachi South District in 2015. Etymology The word ''Saddar'' generally means the "center" (of a settlement) and also the "head" (of a group of people or an organisation). The word Saddar may loosely be translated into "Downtown" as it shares common characteristics with a Downtown of any particular city located in United States. Parsi People
Parsis () or Parsees are an ethnoreligious group of the Indian subcontinent adhering to Zoroastrianism. They are descended from Persians who migrated to Medieval India during and after the Arab conquest of Iran (part of the early Muslim conquests) in order to preserve their Zoroastrian identity. The Parsi people comprise the older of the Indian subcontinent's two Zoroastrian communities vis-à-vis the Iranis, whose ancestors migrated to British-ruled India from Qajar-era Iran. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. The Government of Sindh ( sd, حڪومت سنڌ) ( ur, ) is the provincial government of the province of Sindh, Pakistan. Its powers and structure are set out in the provisions of the 1973 Constitution, in which 30 Districts of 7 Divisions under its authority and jurisdiction. Karachi Parsi Institute (KPI), formerly known as Parsi Gymkhana or Zoroastrian Club, is a multisports club located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Established in 1893 by Parsi businessmen to promote education and social development within Karachi's Parsi community, the Karachi Parsi Institute has offered facilities and coaching for various sports, including cricket, football, hockey, tennis, badminton, athletics, and swimming. Facilities The complex comprises a recreational hall, swimming pool, pavilion, and sports facilities such as cricket ground and billiard room.
