Jagir (film)
''Jagir'' (Hindi ), also known as ''Teen Murti'' (Bengali ), is a 1984 Indian Dacoit Western film directed by Pramod Chakravorty, starring Dharmendra, Mithun Chakraborty, Zeenat Aman, Pran, Danny Denzongpa, Shoma Anand and Amrish Puri. Two language versions were released, a Hindi version as ''Jagir'' and a Bengali version as ''Teen Murti''. It was the highest-grossing Indian film of 1984. Plot Pramod Chakravorty's multi-starrer, ''Jagir'' is the story of three musketeers - Shankar, Sangha, and Danny, who fight to help the needy and punish the greedy. Many years ago, Maharaj Shoor Veer Singh gets killed by a dacoit Lakhan, when he tries to stop him from robbing his royal locket, which concealed the map to the treasure of Anjangadh. Pramod Chakravorty (15 August 1929 – 12 December 2004) was an Indian Hindi film producer and director. Career Chakravorty is best known for directing Hindi film classics like ''Ziddi (1964 film), Ziddi'', ''Love in Tokyo'', ''Tumse Achcha Kaun Hai'' in romantic genre and action films like ''Jugnu (1973 film), Jugnu'' (1973), ''Jagir'' and ''Shatru''. Kishore Kumar
Kishore Kumar (born as Abhas Kumar Ganguly (); 4 August 1929 – 13 October 1987) was an Indian playback singer and actor. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest, most influential and dynamic singers in the history of Indian music. He was one of the most popular singers in the Indian subcontinent, notable for his yodeling and ability to sing songs in different voices. He used to sing in different genres but some of his rare compositions, considered classics, were lost in time. According to his brother and legendary actor Ashok Kumar, Kishore Kumar was successful as a singer because his "voice hits the mike, straight, at its most sensitive point". Anand Bakshi (21 July 1930 – 30 March 2002) was an Indian poet and lyricist. He was nominated for the Filmfare award for Best lyricist a total of 40 times, resulting in 4 wins. Early life Anand Bakshi (Bakshi Anand Prakash Vaid) was born in Rawalpindi in the Punjab Province of British India (now in Punjab, Pakistan), on 21 July 1930 into a Mohyal Brahmin family of the Vaid clan. The family arrived in Delhi, via a Dakota aircraft after the Partition of India and then migrated to Pune, then Meerut and settled again finally in Delhi. Bakshi was fond of writing poetry since his youth, but he did this mostly as a private hobby. In a 1983 interview with Doordarshan, Bakshi recounted that after his initial studies, he joined the Indian Navy, where due to a paucity of time, he could only write occasionally. Mohan Makijany (24 April 1938 – 10 May 2010), popularly known as Mac Mohan, was an Indian actor, who worked in Hindi cinema. He was known for his villainous roles in films throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Asit Sen (13 May 1917 – 18 September 1993) was an Indian film director turned famous comedian in the Hindi film industry. He directed 2 films and starred in over 200 films between 1953 and 1993 until his death. As an actor/comedian, he often portrayed a character with authority, such as a police inspector or landlord, but with comic effect, mostly as a slow-speaking person. His acting career was particularly prolific in the 1960s, 1970s, and early 1980s. He had a very thin voice, in striking contrast to his huge physical frame and spoke his dialogues at a slow pace.
