Flowing Tears
Flowing Tears was a German gothic metal band founded in 2003 in Wadgassen. Their original name was Flowing Tears & Withered Flowers, which they used for their first several releases. The band's final lineup consisted of vocalist Helen Vogt, guitarist/keyboardist Benjamin Buss, bassist David Vogt (musician), David Vogt and drummer Stefan Gemballa. History 1994–1999: Formation and first albums The band formed in 1994 under the moniker Flowing Tears & Withered Flowers. Under the first name, they released a demo called Bijou in 1995, two full-length albums: ''Swansongs'' in 1996 and ''Joy Parade'' in 1998, and an EP named Swallow in 1999. On ''Swansongs'', Manfred Bersin contributed the male vocals. Gothic metal (or goth metal) is a fusion genre combining the aggression of heavy metal with the dark atmospheres of gothic rock. Waldemar Sorychta (born 1967) is a Polish heavy metal record producer and musician who has lived in Germany since 1982. Career He initially worked with German thrash metal band Despair, founded in 1986. In 1994 he took part in the recording of the album ''Jesus Killing Machine'' by supergroup Voodoocult, led by German rock singer Phillip Boa featuring former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo among others. Later on, Sorychta and Lombardo founded the band Grip Inc. Benjamin Buss (; born 7 October 1977), best known by his stage name Matthew Greywolf, is a German musician, best known as the guitarist and a main songwriter in the power metal band Powerwolf. He's married to a photographer Janine Buss. Biography Buss comes from Wadgassen. He was raised in a Catholic family. He became interested in heavy metal music when he was 11 years old. In 1994, along with other people he started a band Flowing Tears & Withered Flowers. He was a guitarist and a keyboardist of the band. They changed their name to Flowing Tears in 1999. In 1995 along with his schoolmate Pascal Flach he founded Red Aim. He started Powerwolf along with Charles Greywolf (David Vogt) in 2003.
