Jacques Higelin
Jacques Joseph Victor Higelin (; 18 October 1940 – 6 April 2018) was a French pop singer who rose to prominence in the early 1970s. Early life Higelin was born on 18 October 1940. His father, Paul, a railway worker and musician of Alsatian descent, introduced his two sons to various forms of music, while his mother, Renée, of Belgian descent, raised them both. Career Higelin's entertainment career began at age 14, when he left school to work as a stunt double. While playing a number of minor roles in motion pictures, Higelin was taught to play the guitar by Henri Crolla, a French-Italian jazz guitarist and a composer of film scores. By the early 1960s, Higelin was attending the René Simon drama school, where he won the François Perier award. ''No Man's Land'' is the seventh album by French rock singer Jacques Higelin, released in April 1978. The song "Pars" was covered by Grace Jones on her ''Warm Leatherette'' album in 1980. Recording Higelin was reportedly dissatisfied with the record, and wanted to destroy the tapes to avoid releasing it, but was persuaded otherwise by his friends, musicians Laurent Thibaut and Francis Moze. Boris Vian (; 10 March 1920 – 23 June 1959) was a French polymath: writer, poet, musician, singer, translator, critic, actor, inventor and engineer who is primarily remembered for his novels. Those published under the pseudonym Vernon Sullivan were bizarre parodies of criminal fiction, highly controversial at the time of their release due to their unconventional outlook. Vian's other fiction, published under his real name, featured a highly individual writing style with numerous made-up words, subtle wordplay and surrealistic plots. Those published under the pseudonym Vernon Sulliva ...-penned songs recorded by Higelin and released on an EP in January 1966 and on an LP shared with Marie-José Casanova, also released in 1966. The nine Brigitte Fontaine songs come from her first album, '' 13 chansons décadentes et fantasmagoriques''. ''BBH 75'' is the fourth album by French rock singer Jacques Higelin, released in 1974 on the Pathé Marconi label. It is a radical departure from his previous works with the Saravah label, as it is entirely a rock album. The album would bring Higelin commercial success and critical recognition from French rock circles, and the album is considered influential on the future of French rock.
