Jacques Dominati (11 March 1927 – 8 September 2016) was a French journalist and politician. Born in Corsica, he was a member of the French Resistance during World War II. He started his career as a journalist, and he was expelled from Charles de Gaulle's Rally of the French People over his support for French Algeria. He served as a member of the National Assembly from 1967 to 1978, and from 1982 to 1993, representing Paris. He served as the mayor of the 3rd arrondissement of Paris from 1983 to 1995. He served as a member of the French Senate from 1995 to 2004, representing Paris. Early life Jacques Dominati was born on 11 March 1927 in Ajaccio, Corsica, France. Charles André Joseph Marie de Gaulle (; ; (commonly abbreviated as CDG) 22 November 18909 November 1970) was a French army officer and statesman who led Free France against Nazi Germany in World War II and chaired the Provisional Government of the French Republic from 1944 to 1946 in order to restore democracy in France. In 1958, he came out of retirement when appointed President of the Council of Ministers (Prime Minister) by President René Coty. He rewrote the Constitution of France and founded the Fifth Republic after approval by referendum. Jacques Soustelle (3 February 1912 – 6 August 1990) was an important and early figure of the Free French Forces, a politician who served in the French National Assembly and at one time served as Governor General of Algeria, an anthropologist specializing in Pre-Columbian civilizations, and vice-director of the Musée de l'Homme in Paris in 1939. Soustelle and his followers opposed any compromise with anticolonial activists in Algeria in the Algerian War.
