Jacob S. Worm-Müller
Jacob Stenersen Worm-Müller (25 December 1884 – 12 November 1963) was a Norwegian historian, magazine editor, and professor at the University of Oslo. He was a politician, a delegate to the League of Nations and the United Nations. Early and personal life Worm-Müller was born in Kristiania as the son of physician and physiology professor Jacob Worm-Müller (1834–1889) and Aurora Olivia Eleonore Louise Olsen. He was married to Johanne Caroline Elisabeth Lippestad—daughter of Johan Anton Lippestad and sister of Fascist politician Johan Lippestad—from 1910 to 1927, and to Asta Josefina Blidberg from 1939. The events in 1905 made a permanent impression on him, and had a deep influence on his later career. The Gunboat War (, ; 1807–1814) was a naval conflict between Denmark–Norway and the British during the Napoleonic Wars. The war's name is derived from the Danish tactic of employing small gunboats against the materially superior Royal Navy. In Scandinavia it is seen as the later stage of the English Wars, whose commencement is accounted as the First Battle of Copenhagen in 1801. United Nations Conference On International Organization
The United Nations Conference on International Organization (UNCIO), commonly known as the San Francisco Conference, was a convention of delegates from 50 Allied nations that took place from 25 April 1945 to 26 June 1945 in San Francisco, California, United States. At this convention, the delegates reviewed and rewrote the Dumbarton Oaks agreements of the previous year. The convention resulted in the creation of the United Nations Charter, which was opened for signature on 26 June, the last day of the conference. The conference was held at various locations, primarily the War Memorial Opera House, with the Charter being signed on 26 June at the Herbst Theatre in the Veterans Building, part of the Civic Center. Øystein Sørensen
Øystein Sørensen (born 17 October 1954) is a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Oslo since 1996, he has published several books on the history of ideas, including Norwegian nationalism and national socialism, as well as general Norwegian World War II history. Born at Strømmen, he took the cand.philol. degree in 1981. His main inspiration for studying history was Jens Arup Seip and his inclination towards incorporating the history of ideas in general history. Berit Nøkleby (25 September 1939 – 26 July 2018) was a Norwegian historian. She was born in Drammen, and is a cand.philol. by education. She has contributed to several books on the German occupation of Norway. She wrote book II and IV of the series ''Norge i krig I–VIII. FremmedÃ¥k og frihetskamp 1940–1945'' (II: ''Nyordning'', 1985, and IV: ''Holdningskamp'', 1986). She wrote the book ''Josef Terboven. Guri Hjeltnes (born 23 October 1953) is a Norwegian journalist and historian. Having mainly researched Norwegian World War II history during her career, she is a professor of journalism at the BI Norwegian Business School since 2004. She has also spent considerable time as a journalist and commentator, currently in ''Verdens Gang''. She became director of the Center for Studies of the Holocaust and Religious Minorities in 2012. Career Guri Hjeltnes was born in Stavanger. She worked as a journalist in ''Arbeiderbladet'' from 1979 to 1985, and has also worked for other newspapers on a freelance basis. The occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany during the Second World War began on 9 April 1940 after Operation Weserübung. Operation Weserübung (german: Unternehmen Weserübung , , 9 April – 10 June 1940) was Germany's assault on Denmark and Norway during the Second World War and the opening operation of the Norwegian Campaign.
