Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales (June 18, 1928 – April 12, 2005) was a Mexican Americans, Mexican-American Boxer (boxing), boxer, poet, political organizer, and activist. He was one of many leaders for the Crusade for Justice in Denver, Colorado. Teddy "Redtop" Davis, alias Murray (Sugar) Cain (June 23, 1923 – June 4, 1966), was a featherweight professional boxer from South Carolina. Personal life "Redtop" Davis was born in Laurens, South Carolina but at his death was a resident of Brooklyn, New York. He served in the US military, where he made a name for himself fighting under the name "Murray (Sugar) Cain." Professional career Redtop's career as a professional boxer might not be believable, were it not so well-documented. He made his professional debut in February 1946 and initially fought at least once a month, sometimes twice. By the end of 1946 he had already amassed a dismal record of 1 win and 6 losses with 2 draws. Del Flanagan (November 6, 1928 – December 26, 2003) was a middleweight professional boxer from Minnesota, USA. Personal life Flanagan was a native of St Paul. He and his brother Glen were known as the Fighting Flanagan Brothers. Both have been inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame and Minnesota boxing hall of fame joining the Gibbons brothers, Mike and Tommy, also from Saint Paul. Professional boxing career Flanagan began his career with 40 straight wins before drawing with Johnny De Fazio in March 1950. He remained undefeated until his 53rd fight, a loss to Tommy Campbell in June 1951. On April 11, 1952, Flanagan upset Arthur King via 10 round unanimous decision. Glen Flanagan
Glen Flanagan (November 16, 1926 – January 28, 1979) was a featherweight professional boxer from Minnesota. Personal life Glen Flanagan was born and raised in St Paul, Minnesota. He and his wife Betty had six children, and Glen went on to have a successful career in insurance and real estate. Flanagan also ran for the city council of St Paul and owned a bar and two restaurants. He also tried his hand at farming in his later years, and dabbled as a promoter, manager, and trainer at different times.
