Jack Reilly (footballer)
John Reilly (born 27 August 1943) is a former soccer player who played as a goalkeeper. Born in Scotland, he was a member of the Australia national team, representing the nation 35 times during the 1970s; he was in the 1974 FIFA World Cup squad. and also represented Victoria. Career Reilly learnt his goalkeeping skills while playing with local Aberdeenshire Junior sides Parkvale, in his hometown of Stonehaven, and Inverurie Loco Works, prior to moving to the reserve team of Hibernian. He made only two first appearances in the Scottish Football League before moving to American club Washington Whips in 1968. Reilly moved to Australia in 1970, signing with Melbourne Juventus. After showing immense talent during his debut season he was drafted into the Australia squad for a world tour. His transfer from St George Saints to Melbourne Hakoah in early 1972 was a then record fee for a goalkeeper of $6,000. Stonehaven
Stonehaven ( , ) is a town in Scotland. It lies on Scotland's northeast coast and had a population of 11,602 at the 2011 Census. After the demise of the town of Kincardine, which was gradually abandoned after the destruction of its royal castle in the Wars of Independence, the Scottish Parliament made Stonehaven the successor county town of Kincardineshire. It is currently administered as part of the unitary authority of Aberdeenshire. Scottish Junior Football Association
The Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) is an affiliated national association of the Scottish Football Association and is the governing body for the junior grade of football in Scotland. The term "junior" refers to the level of football played, not the age of the players. The closest equivalent terminology would be non-League football in England, the difference being that junior football in Scotland was not similarly integrated into its football league system until 2021.
