Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea
Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea () in Incheon, South Korea, is the focal point of Songdo IBD's environmentally focused green space program. It is an 18-hole championship golf course designed by Nicklaus Design, headed by Jack Nicklaus. From the back tees, the course exceeds and presents a challenge to even the most talented golfers. Within the golf course, there will be a Western-style fairway community, including 179 detached single family villas. Events The club hosted the eleventh Presidents Cup in 2015, the first held in Asia. Before it officially opened, it was the site of a Champions Tour tournament in September 2010, the Posco E&C Songdo Championship, a first for that tour in Asia. Songdo International Business District (Songdo IBD) is a smart city or "ubiquitous city" & " Private town " built from scratch on of reclaimed land along Incheon's waterfront, southwest of Seoul, South Korea and connected to Incheon International Airport by a reinforced concrete highway bridge called Incheon Bridge. Along with Yeongjong and Cheongna, it is part of the Incheon Free Economic Zone. 2015 Presidents Cup
The 2015 Presidents Cup was the 11th Presidents Cup, played at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon, South Korea from 8–11 October. It was the first time the Presidents Cup was played in Asia. The United States won for the sixth successive time with a 15–14 victory over the International team. Course layout Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea Format The format changed from previous Cup play. The first two days consisted of five matches of foursomes and five matches of fourball. The third day consisted of four matches of foursomes and four matches of fourball. The host team captain decided the order, fourball vs. foursomes, on the first three days. On the fourth and final day, twelve singles matches were played. 30 matches were played in all. All matches that are all-square after 18 holes scored point for each team. The season consisted of 24 official money events with purses totalling $48,075,000, including five majors. Tom Lehman topped the end-of-season money list, winning $2,081,526. The 2010 Champions Tour was the 31st season for the golf tour now known as PGA Tour Champions since it officially began in 1980 as the Senior PGA Tour. The season consisted of 26 official money events with purses totalling $51,475,000, including five majors. Bernhard Langer topped the end-of-season money list for an unprecedented third consecutive year, winning $2,648,939, and also won the most tournaments, five. Fred Couples had a spectacularly successful rookie season. He finished second in the first tournament he entered, followed by wins in his next three events. PGA Tour Champions (formerly the Senior PGA Tour and the Champions Tour) is a men's professional senior golf tour, administered as a branch of the PGA Tour. History and format The Senior PGA Championship, founded in 1937, was for many years the only high-profile tournament for golfers over 50.
