''Jaban'' is a Bengali language, Bengali romantic drama film directed by Palash Banerjee. This film was released in 1972. Amitabh Bacchan, Dharmendra and Shatrughan Sinha appeared as guest actors in this movie. Plot Binu and Laxmi love each other. They want to marry but Laxmi's uncle sells her to Janardan, who sends her to a brothel. Binu is framed for theft and sent to prison. Shambhu Bhattacharya
Shambhu Bhattacharya (1935– 26 January 2018) was a Bengali actor and stage artist. Career Bhattacharya started his acting career in theatre in Kolkata. He worked in several stage productions of Utpal Dutt, Jahor Roy and Rabi Ghosh. He was a bodybuilder from Baghbazar Bayam Samity. Bhattacharya became popular mainly for his antagonistic role in Bengali films. His performance in ''Sagina Mahato'', ''Agnishwar'', ''Sanyasi Raja'', ''Amanush'', ''Marjina Abdulla'' and ''Charmurti'' were remembered by film critics. He died in a private nursing home on 26 January 2018 in Kolkata. Anubha Gupta (1930 - 14 January 1972) was an Indian Bengali actress, known for her work in Bengali cinema. She received the Best Actress in Supporting Role Award at the 26th Annual BFJA Awards for the film '' Hansuli Banker Upakatha.'' Early life Anubha Gupta was born in 1930 in Dinajpur, British India. She had an interest in dance and music since her childhood. She studied in Parry Charan Girls School and Shantiniketan. Career Gupta joined Bengali cinema as a playback singer when music director Robin Chatterjee introduced her to films. Her debut film as an actress was ''Samarpan'' which was released in 1949. Chinmoy Roy
Chinmoy Roy (1940–2019) was an Indian Bengali male actor. He was famous for his comic roles in Bengali movies, though his versatility has allowed him to play a variety of roles. Though he was known for portraying various character roles, Roy was equally at ease in portraying the famous fictional character Tenida on screen. He held his own among prominent performers like Soumitra Chatterjee, Robi Ghose and Tarun Kumar in the comedies ''Basanto Bilap'', ''Dhonni Meye'', and ''Nanigopaler Biye''. He was also seen in a small role in Satyajit Ray's '' Goopy Gyne o Bagha Byne'', in which he portrayed a spy working for the Minister of Halla. Roy had to contend with chronic health problems.
