Ranjan (actor)
Ranjan (born as Ramanarayana Venkataramana Sarma; 2 March 1918 – 12 September 1983) was an Indian actor, singer, journalist and writer. He debuted in the 1941 movie ''Ashok Kumar'', but gained fame in S. S. Vasan's 1948 magnum opus '' Chandralekha''. Early life Ranjan was born Ramanarayana Venkataramana Sarma in Mylapore, Madras in 1918. His family hailed from the town of Srirangam. Ranjan had his schooling in Madras and received an M. Lit degree from Madras University. While studying in college, he participated in a number of stage plays. Coincidentally, an employee of Gemini Studios, Veppattur Kittu was present at one of his plays. Impressed by Ranjan's performance, Kittu suggested his name to P. G. Murad (actor)
Hamid Ali Murad (24 September 1911 – 24 April 1997) known simply as Murad was an Indian character actor who appeared in more than 100 Hindi language films from the early 1940s through to the end of the 1980s, playing character roles of a father, police officer, judge and an emperor. His son Raza Murad is also an actor in the Hindi film industry who is known for playing mostly villain roles. His niece is actress Zeenat Aman and his granddaughters are actresses Sonam and Sanober Kabir. Early life Murad was born on 24 September 1911 in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, British India. Shekhar Kulbhushan Kapur (born 6 December 1945) is an Indian filmmaker and actor. Born into the Anand-Sahni family, Kapur is the recipient of several accolades, including a BAFTA Award, a National Film Award, a National Board of Review Award and three Filmfare Awards, in addition to nomination for a Golden Globe Award. Trilok Kapoor (11 February 1912 23 September 1988) was an Indian actor and a member of the Kapoor family who worked in Bollywood films. He was the younger brother of actor Prithviraj Kapoor. Early and personal life Trilok was born as the second son of Dewan Basheshwarnath Kapoor in a Punjabi Hindu family. Jankidas Mehra (1910 – 18 June 2003) was an Indian actor of Hindi cinema, cyclist, production designer, and writer. He made over 1000 film appearances between the 1930s and 1997. Biography Sports Jankidas served as the only Indian member of the International Olympic Committee at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin along with Hockey legend Major Dhyanchand and was the only Indian to have broken the world record in cycling between 1934 and 1942. In the 1940s, along with Sohrab Bhoot, he founded the Cycling Federation of India. Films Jankidas debuted in films playing a major role in '' Khazanchi'' (1941), produced in Lahore.
